Talking Tales of the Weird

Quite a few newspapers have a small section entitled "News of the Weird," and given that there are so many special and unique personalities at SYM, I figured it might be an idea to begin something like that here

Basically, what events have you encountered or witnessed that are bizarre or humorous?

Something in that category happened to me the other day as I was leaving the area I work in. The 'office' itself is located in a fairly trendy part of town, but between the office and my bus stop.... there is quite a variety of "scenary." Everything from peep shows to adult video rentals to pawn shops is on offer. Also, the area borders on the gay district, so it is not entirely uncommon to see guys clad in leather wearing things like feather boas.

I generally take all of that in stride, but the other afternoon as I was crossing an intersection I saw a guy carrying beneath his arm, as one would a briefcase, a completely 'nude', anatomically correct and fully-inflated blowup doll!
What made it even funnier is that he did not appear to be doing it for attention and his pose suggested he felt it was the most natural thing in the world.

A couple of months ago when I bought my new cell phone I went to great lengths to get something relatively free of bells and whistles, but at that moment I truly wished I had selected one with a camera option!

Other experiences?

I was once saw a homeless man chase a duck in Toronto that had stolen his sandwich. After a couple minutes of a futile (yet shamefully amusing) chase, I felt bad for him, and gave him a couple bucks to get some street meat from the vender down the path. While the duck was running with the food, though, and with the homeless man chasing it... That was really something else.

I experienced the most terrifying coincidence of my entire life yesterday...

Walking along the street with a friend, K - She said:

"I always thought it'd be funny to dress up as a post-box and say stuff to people when they walk past..."

We turned into her street, and saw a post box walking towards us!!!!!!!
I screamed, fainted, recovered, shat myself, and screamed again...and it said:

"I'm going to a pantomime!"

Further wierdness:

My friend Joe was threatened by a guy in a superman outfit today

Further wierdness:

I have a half-formed conspiracy theory about Jericho (a sector of Oxford, my home town). Walking through Jericho, I frequently notice in my peripheral hearing (if there is such a thing) a constant, extremely high-pitched drone...
It never wavers, and the pitch is always the same AFAI can tell, and it is only present on and around one street. There is a hospital on the street, as well as a movie theatre, and a large metalworks factory (Lucie's Eagle, for anyone who's read Lyra's Oxford) all of which I guessed to be possible sources of the strange noise, some sonic biproduct of the machinery...but the sound is not locatable...It can seem strongest at any point along Walton Street, never being more prevailent or louder near any particular building, and apparently shifting its source when one tries to pinpoint its location... .
Friends have reported hearing it too, although only when I have pointed it out to them - nobody else seems to notice it independently, which leads me to believe that it might be some kind of auditory defect on my part....but why then would I not hear it (or anything unusual) elsewhere?

Any ideas would be incredibly appreciated.
