Seeing as we have been posting lots of riddles over the last few days, I thought I would set up a thread for them.
Here's some rules:
1) You can post the riddle and answer separately, but include a copy of the question
2) Put answers and clues in black (like spoilers) so someone can still guess the answer without it being ruined for them.
3) Post your own riddles or ones you find.
4) Please don't answers riddles you already know the answer to. Let other people guess first.
The same rules apply to dingbats. A dingbat is as follows:
OR QUITS
OR QUITS
The answer to the above would be double or quits. As there are 2 of that phrase shown.
That's about it.
Without ado, here's the first:
A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50."
The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no matter what the carny writes he'll just say he weighs more or less.
In the end the boy ended up paying the man $50. How did the man win the bet?
Good luck, everyone. I'll post the answer later on.

I think the answer to that one is: your exact weight.

A classical one:
You have 6 matches (or toothpicks). Use them to form 4 equilateral triangles of the same size.
(no cheating: you can't break them in smaller pieces).

I give you a group of three.
One is sitting down, and will never get up.
The second eats as much as is given to him, yet is always hungry.
The third goes away and never returns.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have always enjoyed this one...... | | |
That one was in BGII, I think.
Who makes it, has no need of it.
Who buys it, has no use for it.
Who uses it can neither see nor feel it. coffin
And this is very old, though comes in different forms.
If you tell me a lie, I'll shoot you.
If you tell me the thruth, I'll hang you.
What would you tell me?? You'll shoot me.
| GA Havoc's right. The answer is indeed your exact weight. Well done. That type of riddle is too easy. Quote:
Try this one:
What does man love more than life
Fear more than death or mortal strife
What the poor have, the rich require,
and what contented men desire,
What the miser spends and the spendthrift saves
And all men carry to their graves? nothing
Here's another one. Thought you could use another chance, Grimar.
You are walking through a field, and you find something to eat. It doesn't have bones, and it doesn't have meat. You pick it up and put it into your pocket. You take it home and put it on a shelf, but 3 day's later it walks away. What is it?
Good luck  .
@ Grimar: nope. Sorry, I should have been more exact but the side of each triangle is the length of a match/toothpick.
@Lestat: you make one triangular, and make a second one on top of it, which is "turned" 90* that way, it becomes one in the middle and 3 "outside the middle
