Question Suggestions to entertain a baby?

I happen to have a 3 month old girl to watch for the week and I'm curious as to what would be a good way to keep her occupied. I avoid television like the plague myself, I can't sit still long enough doing nothing to finish a show. I don't want to plop her down in front of a tv, or just leave her alone. I've been singing Steve Miller Band and Pink Floyd songs to her for lack of a better way to keep her busy. She seems to enjoy it, yet I got curious if there would be something more beneficial to be doing with her than that? Anyone happen to have any suggestions?

Well feeding her and giving her drinking water would be a good idea. Oh yeah changing her would also be good

Once those are done, give her some very large clean rubber toys to play with. Or stuffed animals. Put on some music and marvel at what she does. Consider it an experiment where you are observing the child.

That will befun fo ryou and she cna have fun destorying the stuff.

Putting her down for a nap would be a great idea in the afternoon and lastly keep her with you at all times.

That is about it from me. Oh yeah spammy spammy spammy

She's more interested in tearing out my beautiful hair than anything else.
Taking over the world might be easy with a cute baby as my decoy.

Read her tales.

Find out a short story and present it with the toys you have at hand

Well, that surely won't last for a week though... Take her for a walk if it's not too cold outside.

Play her music, or yeah, keep singing if she likes that

Definately too cold outside. It'd be nice to go for a walk otherwise.

I should get her mother to bring over some toys, I don't have any suitable for a baby, which led me to my curiousity. Stories are a good idea though.

A three-month-old is just beginning to realise that there's other people around him.The eyes and ears are developing very rapidly so the baby finds new sounds and sights very interesting. Making faces and sounds ought to be a nice game. Walking around in different rooms too. My daughter loves to watch carlights when cars pass our home after dark.

well when I used to baby-sit My little cousin some time ago,I always let him do what he pleases.I just constantly fed him and stuff.I kinda spoiled him,But his parents thought him to just appreciate evry thing in the world.Letting the Baby listen to pink floyd is always good i.e Echoes1&2,The wall,Mother,Set the controls for the Heart of the Sun,One of these days...and many others.lol just remembered, when I let my cousin listen to music it was usually rock so I tought him how to head bang,And his dad is a big fan of rock and since then he has been headbanging to rock.

Listen to Coot. The problem with entertaining 3 month olds is that you have a problem putting yourself in their place, and tend to overdo it. When my son was that age, we just put a broomhandle across his cage. From it, just within reach, we used multicoloured strings to hang everything from .50 caliber shell casings to old toys, even an old Rubic's Cube. He could put them all in motion by himself, and spent most of the day just lying on his back drooling, watching them move and make noises. A perfect kind of mild hypnosis.

I had completely forgotten about how babies are at that age from when my brother and sister were little. No wonder she wouldn't sleep, she was right under my ceiling fan staring at it spin the whole day.

Thats a good idea with the broom handle and all of the little things you hung up. Maybe I can rig something up for her tomorrow.

I have a half-gallon of the stuff sitting at my feet. I thought about it just so I could get some sleep...My gf keeps me up until 4-5 am and the baby gets here at 8:30 am. If she had napped I'd have gotten some sleep, but NOO baby wouldn't sleep at all today. She just wanted to giggle at me and tear out my hair.

Yeah I found evry baby I have had to babysit or something,They always had a facination with my hair,Usually they would want to touch it or mess it up,Stuff like that makes me so mad it's not even funny.I was babysitting my litle couisin,And we went to the mall after wards w/his mom,So we were in the food court and all of a sudden he started to comb my hair with his moms brush she has in her purse,I started to yell and scream at him,But all he did was just sit there and laugh.

Yeah, I sometimes help watch the babies and toddlers at my church. There's this one 9-month-old who, every time I hold him, tries to go after my glasses and hair. I actually have to take off my glasses to keep him from getting to them.

I'd suggst making funny faces or something like that at her. That sometimes gets the little ones at my church to smile. But I would definitly try music, or colerful objects. You might want to also try colorful cloth. From what I've experienced, little kids really like that. A woman at my church brought some colorful material that the kids can play with. It's kinda scarf-like, but it's rrally light, and see-through.

At three months I definately recall being entertained by the audible suffering of others.
