I don't think there need to be such titles at all - I've alsways been quite happy with the system at hand
(althoug my 5-star rating was nice to display   )

They look at the number of posts, the quality of posts and then the mods all decide together if the person deserves a "custom title". This is not of his/her choosing most of the time. And they place it underneath the persons nick. That way only the people who deserve it get it. Quality of posts and post numbers both work so there is a balance of one liners and good posts. At the same time Buck and the mods have all the control. | | |

I have no problem, with the current method. Although the above one would be quite useful.

I feel we should leave things as they are. Because in a lot of other forums new members or even old members with not enough posts felt sort of stupid posting in SYM type forums with all of the exalted members, super members etc.
The way GB works is better first of all because I think the members care less about numbers of posts, and second it is very easy to reach exalted member- which keeps everyone equal.

Could we have a system that was somehow based on a combination of seniority, number of posts and member rating?
Say you get 10 points for every month since you registered, one point for every 100 posts, and three points for ever star of your average member rating.
Then create a scale something like this:
1-25 points = Newbie
26-50 points = Member
51-100 = Exalted Member
101-150 = Ubermember
151-250 = Grand Member
251+ = Old Salt
Sure that's complicated, but so is the BCS and people seem content with that.

I don't see why we'd need them in the first place... all these little options certainly seem enough to keep us going for quite a while... what I think we should do a bit more importantly is fix the topic titles so that way all page numbers are displayed instead of just 1-4...
