I just had this forwarded to me

"If life hands you lemons, throw them out, pile some old newspapers on top of them so no one sees them in your garbage can, and then tell everyone you had lemonade. Really go into detail. Tell your friends how sweet it was, and how you served it up in a big tall glass, nice and cold, and talk at length about how great it is that life keeps bringing you delicious lemonade in beautiful glasses. They'll be too busy envying your lemonade to notice that you're a lying, losing, lonely bastard."

Reminds me of the philosophy a friend of mine has. It goes like this:

"We all remember things that happened to us 5 years ago. Usually the bad things. Well, this always screws us up, remembering all the bad stuff. So, why not remember something good? You say you can't remember anything good? Make something up then. Make it nice. I mean, if we insist on reliving our past, we might as well make it an enjoyable one. No one else will know the difference anyway, and you sure will feel better for it."
