So, up until recently, I've been trying to become a computer programmer, but I found that it's a bit harder than I expected and with two programming classes I'm pretty sure I'm failing, I think I may need to switch specialties.

For computer guru's out there, which is a slightly easier degree of study? Maybe information technology? Maybe Data Management? Also, which would be more common, or more likely to get me a job? Note: I don't care too much about the money, I just want to know which'd easily get me a job compared to others?

Thoughts?

Whoo! First post.

Anyway, I'm in the tail of end of my programming degree so I have a vague idea what I'm talking about. I would imagine your best bet (financially and in terms of difficulty) would be some kind of software engineering course, as opposed to straight up programming. Most SE classes will do some coding alright, but often to not nearly the standard of a more technically focused course. Additionally, Software Engineers can be the most highly paid on a development staff, especially after a few years industrial experience (must be nice to get paid more and not do the real work ).

If you have a head for all the extraneous stuff that goes hand in hand with programming: the SDLC and all those useless diagrams and charts and so forth, that might be more suited to you.
