Most of us have goals we'd like to accomplish in the near future, where the near future is the next several months. They usually exist subconsciously, and are not oft thought of, let alone articulated. Or at least that's the case with me. This thread is a chance to put those goals on paper (metaphorical paper, okay?), primarily for me, but for you too. Let the wanton, unrestricted idealism flow!

Here's my list:
  • Work out more. Actually, work out - full stop. I've become a lazy slob over the last couple of months and this should not continue.
  • Dedicate more time to yoga - because my yoga lessons collide with my Model United Nations meetings, I've missed most of them. And by most, I mean all but the first one. After I'm back from The Hague, I should definitely go back to yoga.
  • Read More - with the IB and upcoming exams this will likely be school-related reading, but I have more than ten texts which I should re-read. And most of them I like, too.
  • Eat More - a meal a day isn't enough to keep anything away. I'll force myself to eat breakfast, if need be, and I should really stop skipping lunches to complete one assignment or other. Homework is to be done at home, damnit!
  • Work Harder/Manage Time Better - this is a big one for me. I procrastinate to the extreme; there is no reason why I should start that 1000+ word essay I've had for over a week at 1am the night before it's due. I can think of absolutely no excuse to justify what I'm doing.
  • Sleep more - the bags under my eyes really don't compliment my features.
  • Care less - I swear, caring has fostered cynicism in me. I want to be one of those happy people I hear about.

Your turn. If you're about to rain on my thread and say 'bah, I've never upheld a single resolution or a goal I've set for myself', please consider not posting. I don't think I've ever stuck by any resolution either, but that's not the point; I need encouragement, here

Conquer NY, drop manhatten into the Atlantic, and lower our taxes finally.

OR,

1. Lose Weight
2. See to it my business plans with friends at the least succeed to some degree that happens to be profitable.
3. Cut out the dead weight with "friends" who happen to not be worth the title.
4. Accomplish a road trip better than my last two attempts.

I thought this was supposed to be a thread for actual New Year goals. Or was it meant for comedy goals?

The decision is left to the discretion of the poster

I'm not sure if you're referring to my last post or not, but if you are, I was being quite serious. I don't see why drinking less would be a comedy goal.

I was referring to the general tenor of the thread. I started it with a serious post, but everything since has been humorous. I'm thinking now of removing my post, or at least deleting its contents.

In fact, consider it done.

D'Oh! Double post! Do you think it's a bad omen that I timed out when posting that.

Organize my time better!!!! That's definitely the main goal fro next year (started to make efforts already )
Spend less time with playing BG
Spend more time with things that make more sense than sitting in front of the computer
Aand.. maybe it's time to get back to archery again... still not sure...
