Curious about something.

"Hatred isn't caused by war, or violence. There's no romantic ideal involved with it. It's the same thugs and criminals that plague our society today."

Do you think this is insanely wrong as I do? I mean, there's enough hatred of Iraqies here in america that is caused by the war and totally un-just. We searched and totally believed that all iraquies are terrorist and that became true in America to those closed minded people.

This is a lyric in a song (the song used it as a quote and then heckled it), and since I heard this song for the first time today, I thought I'd ask your opinions.

Don't agree at all. Personally a lot of my views of have changed over the past 2 years, specifically because I have been working for the government. Hatred is not caused by war or violence. It is a by product of it. Personally believ hatred is caused by imposing your will on others, be it on a person to person level, family level, domestic level, national level or international level. When you force your will whatever it may be on others that is when you breed hatred.

Then again, hatred isn't always a by-product of war or violence. Sometimes, some people join a hate group just to "belong," and just absorb the need to hate. It's probably partially due to your social surroundings, whether you fall into the "wrong crowd," that sort of thing.

Hatred can also be put into you by family at a young age, your parents hate, say to keep it nice, bunnies, and they always talk trash about bunnies, you wil most lkely not like bunnies, its a social product as well as a violent byproduct.

One big problem is that 'hatred' is such an all-encompassing concept. Trying to say that hartred is caused by A and not B is usually a fruitless enterprise. Any ideal will have similar results- imagine that we were talking about 'Love' insted. If I asked you "What causes Love", the first thing you would say is, "What kind of love?"
