If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.

With Enron, you would have $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00.

With Worldcom, you would have less than $5.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser (the beer, not the
stock) one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling price, you would have $214.00.

Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

This is now my new retirement program; I call it my 401-Keg.

I once had $55,000 (Canadian Dollars) in Nortel stocks.

Now, its about a thousand. >_<

I think I got the Nortel stocks for free, though, when they merged with a company that I already owned stocks in.

I have seen this type of retirement plan all too often.

Try this one. Invest all your money in short term CDs (certificates of deposit) and average 4%. Interestingly inflation historically averages around 4% as well. You won't lose any principal - but at retirement your money will be worth exactly what it was when you were 25. Break out those cans of cat food....

Naa - I'm really adapt at trading stocks, and I could certainly sell my tips to people. So everytime I buy a stock, others should sell it - and when I sell, people should buy
It is almost more secure then any law of Newton

Good thing I only trade for fun, when I do - don't have any stocks at the moment, had to sell out when I ran into financial difficulties in the end of my study.
