Does anyone have any clue as to when the seventh and "final" HP might be released?

No publication date has been announced. In a recent interview Rowling said,

"Realistically, I don't think I'm going to be able to do real work on it until next year. I see next year as the time that I’m really going to write seven. But I've started and I am doing little bits and pieces here and there when I can. But you’ve seen how young Mackenzie still is, and you can bear actual witness to the fact that I do have a very small, real baby, so I'm going to try and give Mackenzie what I gave David, which is pretty much a year of uninterrupted “me time,” and then I'll start writing seriously again."

So, the projected release date is 2007 or, even, 2008.

Yeah, that sure is late, though it is of course important that she spends enough time with her kids, as she can write the book always later. I will have to face the old Harry Potter problem more than ever, I guess: having forgot a lot of important details and especially characters of the previous book(s). This would be a good opportunity to read all the six books, as a preparation to the final piece. It will be the ultimate Potter experience

Well, I guess that doesnt really matter, since the books are simple to read. Anyway, may she have time to write a better book. Since The Prisioner of Azkaban the books are longer but by far more simple, simple simple... and even though I'll read till the seventh I expect her to really write as if possessed by a good spirit

Try reading Crime and Punishment, from Dostoyevski. If you can track all the persons in the book efficiently, HP characters will all look like shadows. I mean, its really deep.

Also, you should try some Sci Fy, wich is always cool.

I mean, one year and a half at least is way too much time to read HP, aye?

Yeah, whatI'm going to do is wait until a month or so before the 7th comes out, and try and read them all in order. I'm a pretty fast reader as well, so it won't take me long. Though I might just end up reading just the 5th and 6th books.

One of my favourite books. I also really enjoyed Dostoyevski's The Brothers Karamazov. He's an amazing writer IMO, really digs deeply into the human psyche.
