Sorry....another food thread..
But last night I tried a newish Haagan Daz icecream flavour... Mayan Chocolate...
Good God, I think I practically swooned on the spot it was so good!
And... I'm neither a chocoholic nor generally into sweets.
Anyone else had an orgasmic taste experience lately?

Prett much evertime I have Cake Batter ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery...
Oh and I'm an enormous lobster fan: not all places cook it right but when they do I usually need to be escorted out.

This thread popped into view, and suddenly I was choking on my drink. Yes, yes I have had one of those lately. Whiskey, vodka, and three kinds of rum were a precurser to this, however....I will resort to quoting a song by The Presidents of the United States of America to avoid getting myself into trouble. Quote:
Millions of peaches, peaches for me
Millions of peaches, peaches for free
Look out!
| Now, to catch up on the sleep I was to busy/drunk to get last night.

Nothing too stellar lately, but this reminds me of an orgasm of time passed. There used to be a place in north Austin called Dot's Place that was run by this old lady, Mama Dot and she made the best food. Depending on where you are from it could be called soul food, home cooking, southern cooking but it was meatloaf, fried catfish, mac and cheese, chicken and dumplings, mashed potatoes, greens, that sort of thing.
Her meatloaf was soooo good that we would drive 45min to eat there (you have to be there by 11am or the line can be as long as an hour. It's the kind of place that is filled with truckers and cops and construction crews plus since it's austin a slew of techies. Everything was good, but you can't help but groan with every bite of the meatloaf.

I, too, cannot recall an orgasm of recent date, so like Darzog, must dust off an older experience. Last winter (clearly, not that old), I was knee-deep in work, since Godiva was a big seller at holiday time, and with me being in charge of the stock, that put a lot of weight on my shoulders. On the day in question, I was so frustrated that I was close to berserk. Every time I tried to leave for lunch, a customer or one of my co-workers would ask me something, and I'd get bogged down. Finally, after 3 hours of attempting, I just signed out and stormed out of the joint. Grabbed my usual sub at Subway, and sat down. It was seriously the first time that particular sub ever satisfied me in such a way, and it felt niiiiice. I sat down, took a bite, and I literally felt as though a rush of ecstasy had just smacked me in the face, and if you saw me in the mall food court, you would've seen a dopish guy in all black, wearing a self-satisfied smile for no visibly-apparent reason.

I can see the book review now.... Marcel Proust's masterpiece reexamined.... Sorry... I've been running around all day attending to tasks on a totally empty stomach. This is having effects.

Actually I just had a peach, an apple and a slab of cheese. It's all there is in the house, and I'm too busy to go out.

Yeah, you don't want to be doing a cleanse during a vacation. Not only is it difficult to get all the lemon juice and maple syrup but you miss out on all the vacation food and you can't join people for dinner and you're not supposed to exert yourself too much.

Lemonade and cayenne pepper does that to you? I've been saying for years now lemonade was a menace! Bill, put the terror alert back to red; we've got lemonade afoot.

I have orgasm problems when it comes to food and drink, I can't really get that amount of pleasure out anything that is meant to be eaten (I am a straight woman) but there is a restaurant in Aqaba, Jordan, which I will never forget. The hommus, the baba ghanoush, the fatayer, the heavenly kofta and the strong sweet coffee and baklavas to round it off...I almost get dizzy when I think of this place

Last week at the office, the company sprung for a catered team meeting, ala Starbucks. At this meeting, several containers of Starbucks coffee were present. The usual were accounted for...save one I have never seen before: Sumatran. So, out of curiosity, I sampled it. Ah yes, excellent stuff. It reminded me of the kaffe I used to have when on the town in Frankfurt, or Stuttgart. The tastebuds were having multiples.
Since no one else seemed interested in it, I took it with me after the meeting. Stayed wired all day, too.
