Now, i need all you smart science major types to gather 'round and put on your beer... thinking caps and see if you can answer me question, which if memory serves (and it doesnt) i may have asked before ina dif. thread but no answer was recieved. I also want to know why you tihnk so.
If you and your exact equivalent in antimatter somehow... collided/met/joined... would you cancel out? 
I tohught about it but i odnt know enough about physics... now m head hurts. My original thoughts were no i dont think that matter and antimatter combine but i dunno maybe you would amke a blakchole and swallow up the earth dooming everyone to.. what ever happens in a black hole.

Heres the real question;
If you ate pasta then antipasta would you still be hungry? 
Back to seriousness! I read a book about this, but it was long ago and I never finished it  I think that yes you would both cease to exist. You would merge and become nuetral, therefore unable to interact with either element. Im probably wrong though *sigh*

I would post now, except that the SO just got home, I just finished a rather lengthy reply in another thread, and I am tired.
Personally, I would have called this Physics Question so that it would draw Curdis like a moth to a lamp.

I have been told that you do cancel out each other......but then that would be breaking the rule on energy...(assuming you agree that your a form of energy in some way) that energy cant disappear but transforms into another form....

Whenever matter and anti-matter come into contact, they cancel each other out in a flash of bright light and release of gamma radiation.
Basically, if you and Anti-Phreddie came into contact, you would both explode.

It makes sense, because Matter is Energy (according to E=mc²), and our universe is full of matter (well, lots of emptiness too, I admit..).
Since matter can't just appear (except in stories), there has to be something else to balance our energy/matter, or there has always been energy and matter in one form or another. | | |

If Phreddie and his Anti-Phreddie would collide there will an explosion. The energy of which the matter is constructed will come back. You will have a H-bomb type of explosion if I'm not mistaking.
@Ik: If I remember correctly scientist belief there should be as much matter as anti-matter. Only problem is they only found small amounts of anti-matter so they are still searching...

No one has enough antimatter to experiment with so no oneknows WHAT happens when ti does anything as far as i know, i know they know how to make it and i think they have succeeded in manufacturing a small amount of antisomething but not enough to test stuff with... thats why i poste dthis question to see if any one knew, if any one has any other questions on anytihng feelf ree to post in this thread, this is jsut a general questions thread not specific to antimatter.... **forgets second question**... school blows....
