I was just curious if anybody had found any PS2 emulators for the PC that work. I was waxing nostalgic (got a cloth and everything) over Bandit Kings of China III, and just discovered that KOEI is going to release BKoC VIII on the PS2, shortly. Was thinking of trying it, assuming it's CD rather than just DVD-based.

Waxing ? ya got Tybs doing that ? Seriously what kind of wax you're using anyway ? Common car wax ?

On the emulator side, I dunno if emulator programs for machines which still in the market are considered illegal or not. But there are rumors circling around in underground that there are PS2 emu prog. I haven't try those anyway since my machine doesnot have DVDROM drive. And IIRC the progs require DVDROM drive to be able toread some PS2 disk.

I could pass omse of links I found in the future via PM if you wanna try the progs anyway.

I haven't heard of any really reliable ones yet, and the power needed to emultate the processor is quite considerable, so I'm not all that sure how well any currnet ones work. I'll talk to some people to see what I can turn up though.

Well, if you find one that works, let me know. I can always use my wife's notebook, which has a DVD in it.

AFAIK no such thing exists due to the processor requirements it would need... and same thing goes for XBox emulators. I'm not sure about GameCube but I could probably check.

edit=> disregard what I said... I hadn't been following emulator progress since I'm not too fond of console games. Ater a bit of searching this is what I came up with.

To quote the guy who gave the link:

a PS2 emulator which is coming off nicely and they say that it started to work with commercial games although the chances are low for most games. Try for yourself, you may be lucky
