Post your dreams!

This is something of a companion thread to Dreams, where people have been discussing the reasons behind their dreams, under the tutelage of Expert Dreamologist, Dr. @CE. In this thread, you can actually state your dream, allowing people to gawk at you and shudder in private. Have fun!

And to show my generosity of spirit, I will go first. Earlier, I had a dream about going to bed in a Vegas hotel suite after arriving quite late. I woke up to discover nine people sitting in the suite's lounge, talking. They were evidently a road band (of what sort, I'm not sure, since they only had a few guitars with them, and none of them looked or sounded like brain-blasted road musicians). We decided that the hotel had double-booked us for the hotel, though they seemed to want to contest the room although I'd been in it, first. So we went down to speak to the front desk.

Only there wasn't a front desk, or rather, only one: each floor seemed to have a huge, open area done up in red velvet and gold that functioned as a (and appeared to be ) a lobby. While getting around, I walked past a machine that dispensed five or six snacks from clear containers--you know the kind; and then I went by a second one a few feet later that dispensed five or six different kind of condoms. A few feet later, there was a third machine dispensing various magical ingredients out of Macbeth (brindled cat, etc). People were sitting around small tables everywhere, packed in and drinking, talking as loudly as possible. They not only ran the range of humans, but included at least one individual who was lime green and had a single antenna coming out of his scalp with an umbrella turning around it.

Each time I made it to the front of what appeared to be the multipurpose lobby/bar/restaurant, I was told to go to another floor. Finally, I was told the real front desk was on floor 18.

Unfortunately, that desk was much like a post office's, and the front was rolling up as I arrived, presumably for lunch, or breakfast. A holiday detective apporoached me (I was still dressed in a bathrobe, oddly enough), but became friendly after I explained the problem to him. The only odd thing in this portion of the dream was that I still retained any earthly notion of what the problem was, since the dream itself had been entertaining enough, and the continuity girl is usually left off the hiring roster when they're building dream sets in your subconcious.

That's it. I awoke at that point. The only possible link I can find in that morass to real life is my concern for my wife, who's just taken a new job that will have her living in a hotel 4 days a week outside Boston. And I loathe Vegas, but the last time I looked, it was considerably to the west (or east, depending upon your POV) of Boston.

The back of my mind is even more dadaist than the front, apparently.

How mundane can you get?

I've had some doosies in the past, but my latest dream involved seeing my youngest take her first steps while I was watching a cartoon on TV involving the Powerpuff Girls teaming up with the Scooby Doo Gang to fight some evil in a cave.

Do you think I spend too much time watching TV with my kids?

I must say, fable, that this topic is interesting, and your dream is...well...it sounds like a dream you would have. Don't ask me what I mean by that because I'm not really sure. To tell the truth, it sounds like a dream I would probably have.

I had a strange dream the other night. Well, more like morning. My dad and I were driving towards Coolidge, AZ from Casa Grande, AZ. We had just turned onto a road, leaving us two more turns to make before arriving at our home. We were forced to swerve off the road because of a what was either an ambulance or a pickup truck, though most likely both. The truck swerved off the road the other way, spun around, then took off across the farmland towards Casa Grande. We got back on the road and continued ahead. We soon reached a spot where there is a tree on the left side of the road, just within a field where there are lots of cows(at least, a lot IRL). There weren't any cows in the dream, but there were some cars that were stopped and there was one car sticking straight up out of a pond and starting to sink. I don't know where the pond came from since it isn't in the real field. We stopped and I got out and walked over to the pond. I reached out, grabbed the car, which turned into a hotwheels-sized car(the pond also shrunk to a relative size), pulled the char out of the pond, which was now a puddle, and sat it on the road. The returned to normal size. The owner got in the car and drove away, as did the other cars. I don't know where my dad disappeared to, but our car went with him wherever it was. Then there was a girl sitting by the fence that I was leaning against. She was at least a 6" to 1' taller than me, thin, but big breasted. Then the dream became rather erotic. It wasn't long after that I woke up.

As to any link this has with my real life...I haven't a clue.

Well contrary to normality I tend to have dreams about the ocean during the winter (nostalgia), but I had a very strange one last night.

I was sitting on the beach and it was High Tide so the waters were gradually getting bigger. I was sitting there in my bathing suit, and well my entire Spanish class was there in swimsuits too. I don't like Jeremy Greenberg so what I did was throw him out to sea (this is a dream after all ) and then the high tide kept getting higher. So the beach was built in steps, and the water would fill each one, but well we weren't allowed to leave the beach without getting put on probation by the teacher (who looks alright in her suit, she is 22 and single ) even though teachers can't put you on probation. So waves kept getting bigger and bigger until finally it was up to our feet on the shore and the undertow was so strong that you couldn't swim in it and Tom Falla got swept away. Pity. I was about ready to throw Steve Palazo in there too. LOL. So all of a sudden this HUGE wave comes up and well it hits us all in the face and it was very salty. For some reason I could taste the salt even though some people don't have senses in their dream. The salt taste remained the rest of the dream but was gone when I woke up. So about half my class got swept out to sea except my friends of course, and the teacher. So then this even bigger wave comes up and we try to outrun it, but it just keeps getting bigger. Suddenly the radio said that there was an earthquake in NYC and that the waves would be big so we were like Oh boy. So some of us got to the top but Ms. Mesolella and a few other people got swept away until I was the only one left, and then all of a sudden this person shoves me into the water and I got sucked under, but I could breathe under there. I saw all my friends down there acting like nothing was wrong, and then suddenly the Little Mermaid appeared and I gave her a piece of Trident gum, and then I woke up.

Weird, ne?

This was quite a few years ago, and its one of the only dreams that i haved remembered for soo long.
Actually i dreamt it one night, and it continued into the next night.
I was in my school, it didn't look like mine though, and we were outside during recess. For some reason it was nighttime.
Then suddenly the giant of Micky Mouse and the beanstalk(whatever its called) appeared and started roaming around school. It wasn't stomping people, but it was a threat.
So me and my buddies gathered around and we laid traps and all that stuff and captured it. Then it escaped.
It went rampaging through the streets, tripping over wires and stuff.
Then it fell and got knocked out.
Thats all i can remember.
Second day back in school, almost the same, instead this time we created an army and attacked the giant and tied it up, and carried it and threw it into the sea.

Kind of stupid.

No, I think you had typical sleep stage 2 dreams, they are characterised by being short, fragmental and often about everyday matters rather than the surrelistic, complex and often colourful REM stage dreams.

I find it's often easy to piggyback my consciousness on stage 2 dreams, watching the fragments bloom and transform. I suspect meditation is pretty close to this.

Mediation - that's an interesting state of consciousness. I recall it has some specific features different from sleep, but also some similaries, it might well be that it shares some features with stage 2 dreaming.

Personally, I like stage 1, just when you are falling asleep and you thoughts transform into uncontrolled images and associations Mostly, I don't have time to enjoy this though, since I fall fast asleep in 3 seconds flat

I never recall falling asleep. What I always remember is, one moment I'm awake, waiting to go to sleep, the next I'm either in a dream or waking up with no recollection of dreaming. Usually the latter holds true.

So, what type of dream would you say the one I mentioned was, hmm?

A REM dream, certainly. It's a story, not very fragmented, and it contains the "surreal" elements that's characteristic for REM dreams, like the car and the pond chanings as you dream, the giant lady, etc. Also, erotic dreams mostly (almost exclusively) occurs during REM sleep

Can REM dreams become lucid(?) dreams?

Exclamation

Get this for a dream, (nightmare really):

I dreamt I woke up, in my bed in my room and everything was exactly as it should be. But I found that I couldn't move and my eyelids were really heavy. I tried to move sideways but I contracted my stomach muscles so much I vomited all over the place. Next I tried yelling but that didn't help and straight after that, I really woke up! Wierd.

Most of my dreams involve large amounts of *******, ******** and lots of **** ***. Often with a bit of ***** and *** ****** thrown in too.

But then you already knew that.

I haven't had any nightmares about exploding buildings and falling planes for a while now.

I'm not sure what "lucid" means, what is a lucid dream?
