My apologies to EMINEM if I put this thread up.
I want to know what are the things that you look forward to on the upcoming LoTR2 movie.

Possible spoilers here since I assume others are presently, or having plans on reading the book itself.

The great battle at Helm's Deep I can't wait to see!

Thanks.

In the Two Towers I'm looking forward to the Ents( Treebeard et al)

Inthe return of the king I'm looking forward to the army of the dead.

Incidentally I thought the Balrog was ace.

One thing's for certain; it'll definitely be better than the next Harry Potter movie.

I forgot about the Ents! My favorite creatures in LoTR!!! That will be awesome. When I was a kid, my dad was really into LoTR, and he told me about the Ents. I believed they were real for the longest time...

BTW John Rhys Davies (Sliders)- who plays Gimli, is also doing the voice of Treebeard. Meaning the Ents are probably totaly CGI.
Bernard Hill, who played the captain in Titanic is playing Theoden.
Brad Dourif, who played Billy Bibit in 'one flew over the Cuckoo's nest' (the guy who killled himself at the end) and he also played the Frances Mcdormand's husband in 'Missisipi Burning' is playing Wormtongue. He certainly has the cowardly atitude o fit the part.
For the full cast and crew.

Tch, someone has neglected to read the other LotR thread... Treebeard is a combination of animatronics (apparently the largest animatronic ever, about 30' tall) and CGI

Also, footage has been shot of Gandalf's battle with the Balrog in Moria - but there's no guarantee it'll make the final cut.

Things I expect in Two Towers, listed in order of preference:

1) More screentime dedicated to develop the relationship between Legolas and Gimli.
2) The Ents, and how they broke Saruman's tower.
3) Battle at Helm's Deep

I’m looking forward to the inclusion of things that were scrapped from the Fellowship due to time (Gimli and Legolas’ friendship, Aragorn and the reforged Anduril, etc.). I’ve heard that Elijah Wood looks older in TTT (The Two Towers), as the ring takes it toll on him (a guy who’s seen the upcoming trailer described him as “almost disintegrating before your very eyes”). Gandalf the White is supposedly a bit different in appearance than Gandalf the Grey (besides the obvious clothing change). I guess they wanted to make him look more luminous. The Battle of Helm’s Deep will rock, and I’ve heard that Saruman might be killed here rather than having his staff broken (a change I don’t particularly mind, if it’s true). But most of all I want to see (and hear) Gollum. “My preciousss.” http://www.soccerforums.com/images/s.../ferocious.gif

Will that be done? If they were going to do it, wouldn't it have been when they were at Rivendell?

That makes sense, I already guessed the ending in the Shire had been changed, since they took out Sam looking in Galadriel's mirror, and her gift to him...

What about the palantir, do you think that will feature? I think it might be cut... because Gandalf already saw it, and realised that was how Saruman and Sauron were communicating. But then if that's taken out, how are they going to explain Pippin going ahead to Rohan with Gandalf?

I'm looking forward to Gollum too... he didn't get much screen time in FotR, but he looked great

Of course, I can't wait to see Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli hunt some orc either...

I'm exceptionally curious about this part. So far the critics have given it the thumbs up.

I think he has the talent to do it. A friend of mine was rather sceptical about Elijah Wood (and admittedly I wasn't too sure about him when I first heard it), because he thought of him as "that guy from The Faculty" If you've seen more of his movies than that, you should know he's probably one of the best actors of his generation Once I saw him in FotR, I was convinced he was perfectly cast.

Thats what me and my friends think of Tobey McGuire (think thats his name). The guy who plays Spider Man. We've labelled him "The Most Recognisable Person You Have Never Seen Before".
It's actually a long story, but basically we can't remember what movies he has been in, or what his name actually is, but we have seen him somewhere before.

I've seen him in The Cider House Rules and Wonder Boys, both very good performances. Spiderman will be the most mainstream thing he has done, I think.

(BTW, it is Tobey Maguire)
