Popular 'Adult Contemporary' Music I'm hoping I can call upon the collected minds and hearts of SYM for a small favour. I'm not always the most clued in when it comes to the popular music scene, so what I'm asking is if people would be willing to post some names of popular (and successful) 'contemporary adult' music composers/singers for a work-related project ;) I'm talking about people who might fit into a somewhat similar genre to singers/writers like Sarah McLachlin, Jewel, Indigo Girls, Alanis Morisette, Tori Amos etc. Um.. male as well as female, though I know I have only women listed here. Cheers in advance :) |
There's some kind of child prodigy soft-pop-jazz-wank singer big at the moment but I've forgotten her name. Also a child prodigy soft-pop-blues-wank singer called Jamie something. Sorry, I'm not much up with the modern adult contemporary pop scene either :D |
lol! Actually any really popular child prodigies would be great ;) |
Sorry, the only pop-wank singer I know of these days is Brittney Spears. I sometimes use her as proof that the Primal Principle of the Universe has feeling but no intelligence as we understand the term. |
*eeek* Britney Spears was not precisely what I had in mind  lol! it is scary what comes up in Google when "Adult" is part of the search string... :o  |
You should check out Shivaree. Don't know if that's what you are looking for, since I've only heard one song by her. She have one of the songs on the Kill Bill Volum 2 sound track. It's a song called Goodnight Moon, It's really great. |

OMG Robnark! between you and Fable I'm going to end up with nightmares! *sees visions of Britney crooning sweet nothings into Captain Kirk's ear* @Gwally, LMAO! :D Well now that you mention it... there was that one image of Ned in a 'compromising position' with somebody who, in order to protect the innocent, shall remain nameless :o btw, thanks everyone, I managed to figure out some names :) |

On the other hand, I bought a Rufus Wainwright album last week, and that is most enjoyable. |
Have you listened to Jan Garbarek? He is a Norwegian saxophone player, he used to play jazz, but now he plays something which he calls bastard music. It's the most relaxing music I have ever heard |
