Maybe he's taking pictures of the Queen mum. Isn't that a hanging offence?

What's a UK size 10 in non-UK terms, minus the shillings, pence, and left-side of the road driving?

Um.. I don't have my diary to find what exactly UK size 10 is in the US. It's 38/40 in European size.

We don't use shillings any more. £1=100pence.

And the left-side driving is the correct side.

Maybe a UK 10 is the same as a US 10, in which case you're slightly slimmer than average. Sound right?

And driving on the left side of the road is merely a vestigal notion left over from cars used in Saxon days. Brits are soooo conservative.

It's a US 8, althouth they use the same baseline, American women insist on seeing the lower numbers so the scale has been fudged accordingly.

In that case, Minerva would be verging on the petite: a wisp of a woman, a thing of scarves and make believe, blown on an idle spring afternoon's fancy out of the valley and across the hills.

Or maybe she's faking it.

Well, it's not different here. Some shops, like Marks and Spencers made the measurement slightly bigger than normal, so sometimes I can even get into size 8.

Tell the truth, I wear size 10 bottom and size 10/12 top if it's long sleeves shirts/jackets. I have relatively longer arms.

At the risk of being flogged or even killed, I never considered 8 to be 'petite'. Normal and healthy I would say.

Alright, let's summarize our findings up to this point.

Minerva has a small bottom and a rather larger top. She's small, and her hands drag along the floor as she walks. When she's driving, she drives on the left side of the road.

I wonder if this will do as a resume.
