I've recently read two books by the said author titled "Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said" and "The World Jones Made". I really like them because I think D!ck has some really fascinating and interesting ideas. One thing I've noticed is that the made-up world of both these books is very cynical and dystopian.

Anyways, I want to find out what people in SYM think of him or have any other books of his to recommend.

Wanna good read? I definitly think everyone should dive into Hunter S. Thompsons brilliance with "The Rum Diary" great book.

If you like that stuff then check out Fear and Loathing in las Vegas (yes the movie was a book, and yes its based on truth).

The great shark hunt, fear and loathing on the campaign trail.

I also reccomend Palchanuik book (spelled it wrong) Fight Club, Invisible Monsters, Surivor, Choke.

I read 'Do Androids dream of electric sheep?', which is the basis for 'Blade Runner'. I said in my thread that I didn't like the movie, so I wanted to see where the problem lies.
It's not with the book. The book was great- better than the movie in every way imaginable.
D!ck comes off as a guy who has a certain view of things, which can be very warped, but at the same time he presents it very interestingly. Very much like Kubrick on film- he has certain views on things, things that no one else in the world would think of, which usualy translate very well on film.

I've read three other books by him so far: 'Solar Lottery', 'The devine invasion' and 'The unteleported man'.
Out of them I really liked the first two, but the last one was too wierd for my liking.
I plan on getting a few more when I go to the States next week.

I haven't read any of his books, but does anyone know which one Minority Report was based on? Is it actually called Minority Report?
