Orkut

[Lost One]

So, I'm curious, since Orkut has taken off like a fever in Brazil, does anybody use it here?

For those not aware of what Orkut is, it is an "online community that connects people through a network of trusted friends". Basically, you can only join if someone invites you. And after you join, you are connected immediately to 1 person, but also to that person's friends who you can see in his/hers friend's list. After that, you create your own profile, choose to add/remove friends, and enter communities that are made by Orkut members. You can create your very own community.

Anyway, I joined a few weeks ago, and so far, I've liked it. It has helped me meet with some old friends I hadn't seen in years, and the communities are quite interesting. If people from GB were to join, we could actually create a Gamebanshee community there.

If anyone's interested, and wants to be invited, let me know.

Erm, we already have a Gamebanshee community here...

I haven't heard of Orkut, but Friendster is quite big here I think. I have never felt the need to sign up to something like that. I find I meet people with similar interests on other message boards anyway, so what's the point unless you're into networking?
