Here's something reassuring for you: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1770
Apparently big cats are roaming the UK too.....
Most of them would be more scared of you than you are of them though.

It looks like a large housecat to me. "At least 80 pounds" and "a three foot tail" sound like exaggerations to me. The only objective evidence (not based on guesses or estimates) are the footprints, which are the size of a normal housecat's. Bobcats, cougars, lions, etc. have huge paws, so they would leave huge footprints. As for a cat's eating habits, you really don't have anything to worry about unless you're a bird, mouse, lizard, insect, or some other small creature.

Either it's a large housecat, a fox or, on the off chance, a lynx. Happy now?
3 feet end to end, perhaps, from looking at the pictures.

Three. It doesn't look that large or formidable, to me. I think the angle, distance, and lack of shadow makes it hard to tell. I had a part-Siamese black cat, once, who had very large paws, despite being in other ways a perfectly normal-sized cat. Apparently the Siamese have that trait bred into them.

Love urban myths .
We have big cat sightings in Australia, and one guy killed it .
His story was so false it was hillarious. Basically, it goes... I was riding my quad bike around in the bush and had just finished hunting.
Then I heard some rumbling and thought I could get one more quick kill.
Grabbing my gun, I went into the bushes, where I found the hugest cat I've ever seen.
I quickly fired my gun and killed it. I knew I would be a hero, but it was too large to carry home.
So I cut off its tail, then dumped the body in the nearby river.
...And then it's followed by him parading around with a tail, I can't remember how it ended, but DNA evidence suggested it was nothing of the sort and the guy was rejected as a liar.
So, my advice for you chu...
Take advantage of your chance to gain free press exposure. Simply shoot a grainy video that is out of focus of something remotely black and furry in the bushes, take care to include you swearing and screaming, and then see it run away.
Send it the news, and hey presto, you're famous .

But you misinterrupted me, I was saying that from his viewpoint. That was what he told the press... not what I told them to convince them .
