Exactly that, and nothing but. I see with my mystic vision (shyeah, right) three immediate candidates down the road; hence, the choices you've got in this poll. Rob Sirotek has spoken recently and enthusiastically about a new Wizardry, and there's always the off-chance that BIS might be engaged to do a ripo...excuse me, new entry in the Baldur's Gate series, but those are tenuous matters, at best.
So which is it? I'm most looking forward to KOTOR, myself, given Bioware's attempt to push the BG2 envelope further. If they can do as good a job as they did in the older title, but in a new 3D environment, more power to 'em.

Before getting them (and I must admit none are particularly interesting for me), I must finish Morrowind and Ultima VII.

I have to say KOTOR too, I'm looking forward to see how well its made, from what we've seen so far, then it should be pretty good, I just hope it doesn't get overhyped and it gets released early.

I really need to finish up BG2 and ToB one of these days. Unfortunately, Morrowind has recently sucked me into its grip (I'm even dreaming about it ) | | |

Greyhawk - brings back fond memories - it looks like it is shaping up to be good. My hope is that if they do well with this title they will release other module series as as well. If they release a G1-3 Against the Giants and the D1-Q1 Drow modules my head will explode.
The star wars game is intriguing as well...

I agree with Nippy on this one..... I'm looking forward to KOTOR and really hope they've learned from their mistakes with NWN.....

Currently I'm sticking with mmorpgs - unfortunally the online community in such games are so incredible immature and whine so it leaves little place for roleplaying.
None of the single player roleplaying games seem to draw my attention these days.
It must be online with human counterparts wether it be NwN or as of now EVE-Online or Star Wars Galaxies.
I'll most likely look into some of these new ones, but I doubt a singleplayer game can capture me as BG-series did.

Lionheart. No doubt. The introdution of the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system into a more 'regular' roleplaying world, is one I'm definetly looking forward to. And the fact that it's a bit less fantastic compared to regular RPGs, also sounds very exciting.
After that, the rumoured "Jefferson" game from Black Isle.

I have probably spent several thousand hours playing the game, and still love it best
But I have managed to tear myself away long enough to begin playing BG2. I have to admit I do see why you all rave about it so
I am looking forward to trying out KOTOR though..From what I hear it combines the best of BG2, MW, and the eye candy to make it a massive achievement

I'm curious: why is that? I've yet to see an MMORPG that contains the wealth of features found in a really good standalone title. The real attractive thing about a good MMORPG is the community, and you've already described 'em as immature.

| | Well, I'm looking back more than forward. With a pretty outdated machine, soon to be upgraded (see my post in the Tech Support forum ), I'm actually looking forward to playing through some oldies that will probably run better.
I'll probably go through BGII again (maybe with the Icewind Gate mod); and follow it up with ToB for the first time; Morrowind is on order (with expansion); and NWN (which never ran on my current machine).
I've never heard of Lionheart or Greyhawk. Fable, maybe you want to throw a link or two or three in your original post?
Peace.

The real attractive thing about a good MMORPG is the community, and you've already described 'em as immature. | Actually it is not terrible surprising no, but it can still annoy me that people are so immature when it comes to communication over the internet. Especially being used to the community we have going here at GB - then most others fade in comparison
.
The community as a whole might come of as whining and immature, but this is mostly the "spoken" ones. Inside the games there are countless other people - I have and currently game - with some amazing people.
People I met playing Dark Age of Camelot wich I started playing 1½+ year ago - and now am playing EVE-Online with.
It is the same "mechanisme" that drives us old timers back to a place like this.
Single player games can have a wealth of features sure, but it lacks the randomness from dealing with other people.
When you trade your merchandies you produce, when you defend your terrotiries, when you build up a feelt to do black ops. for one of the biggest corperations, when PCs attack each other for what ever reason, it all adds to this.
Anybody that have the chance for instance, I would advice trying NwN through Argyle to get a taste of multiplaying. It is a truly remarkable experience that I have yet to find in any singleplayer CRPG although the world is presently (when I left due to lag) so much smaller.
Although roleplaying as a concept doesn't really exist in many MMORPGs, it does provide a framework, and interacting with thousand of people all with their own (hidden) aggendas adds to the falvour. The gameplay is maybe a little more limiting via the framework then singleplayer games, but that is because it is up to the players instead of NPCs to "create the intrigues".
The reaosn MMORPGs dosen't appeal to many it because of the timeframe. To really get into a MMORPG takes about a week to a month, just to get the hang of features etc. Then comes the time to "increase one skills/levels".
So multiplayer games for me, far overtakes any single player game so far.

No more new games for me now. Stuck with buggy MOO3, dratz this game constantly showing "DirectX sufface not found" error from time to time - even in the opening cinematic movie
I can get new ones but it's just my bad habit to finish whole game before getting new one Quoting from Fidel Dahan from Jagged Alliance games : "Leave me alone. I'm busy !"

Definitely will be playing Greyhawk. Can't say I care for the interface of the online pics we've been getting for months but it more than likely can be customized to one's liking.
I'm guessing the screenshots are the way they are so more of the environment is seen as opposed to a text window, etc. It just seems to me that the character profiles take up a ton of space. As much as the BG2 interface consumed of screen space, I always used it. Perhaps with greyhawk I'll force myself on the hotkeys from day 1.
KoTOR also looks intriguing but not as much as greyhawk, for me personally. When it hits shelves for the xbox, I'll probably rent it and see what it has to offer. If I like it, it will be a PC purchase, not an xbox purchase.

Came out within the last few days. Don't know if it will address your problem, but it's worth a try. It's up at the QS site.
