What myths and legends do think are true(No CE don't prove us wrong, you'll spoil it!) which are false, and which local legends do you know?

On my land I plan to move to ( this year maybe) there is a old legend about Confederate Gold being buried by a tribe of Indians. My Great Grandma would go on about it all the time while she was alive.....

"Down by Indian Branch"

Another one...Burnt Corn and Murder Creek.

Burnt Corn
Seems the white settlers who moved into this area decided to get rid of the Indians in a village on a little shallow creek. Late at night a group set fire to the Indians fields of corn..taking with it the food supply for the coming winter. Spotted by the Indians, the white men were caught in the deed....but did excape.

Murder Creek
In a uproar about the fields of corn being burnt, the Indians then in turn attacked the villagers and laid waste to all in site.

Is this including religious tales as well? Could, for example, the various purported miracles of Christ be viewed as myths and legends?

Although they count, I don't want to start a religious argument, plus it is part of the bible, which is neither fictional/non-fictional(In our school library anyhow, religios text have their own section).

Quite amusing, @Eery. Since I am unable to keep track of the show, I hope the website reveals the results.

One could also read chicken innards, though I am not quite sure how this is done. I'm also quite sure that I'd rather not learn how. Killing a chicken is a messy business - especially if done on a day like today.

LOL - maybe we should check with Fas on reading Tea Leaves; a lot less messier and safer...

13 is actually my lucky number, it was the day I was born on, it's how old I am now, and on this day 4 years ago I was asked to go to a double party(both were girls)

Highlight for spoiler concerning the Dave Gorman show after 6 episodes (link earlier in this thread):
yes . Dave Gorman hit the Triangle of Delight yesterday - astrology works; no longer the burden of responsibity to carry - just do as your horoscope tells you to and you'll end up happy: it is now a scientific fact
