I recently bought two of these notebooks, one to make a backup of the internet and another to import my essense into and live in my own cyber-world (using the included mental-essense import hat, that is).

When I plugged it in, My power went out.. Went down stairs and my Circut breaker caught on fire. It eventually burned down half my house, But atleast my computer is safe I feel bad for the guy that shipped it here, He brought it inside with a fork lift. And I had to sue him because he left a hole in my floor when he dropped it.

2 things to realize here.

There is no such thing as a 10ghz tablet pc and if there was it would not be only $2000

also who has a 30 terabyte hard drive?

now the funny thing i founs is that the dudes making comments are really into online condoms

so the theory is you have to have condoms to go with the muscle

So the CPU is a modestly impressive 10GHz, and the hard disk stores 30TB, and at first it sounds like a good deal, right?

But there's only 2GB of RAM - clearly underpowered for a machine like this - and what they don't tell you is that the 30TB hard disk spins at just 4200rpm, making seek times miserable.

The integrated graphics chipset is also a complete joke, but thankfully the software rendering is tolerable. Just don't expect to run Doom 4 on it.

I've bought a lot of 10GHz tablet PCs in my time, but this one's underpowered garbage. The core is great, but everything else is lackluster.

Oh, and it refuses to run Linux.

Wow this thing is great for my kids who are too young to have the synaptic relay chip implanted and have to use a keyboard and monitor still.

It can handle the low demands of their kid's games just fine and it's not too heavy on the pocketbook.

What the specs don't explain is that, while it's very fast, the only thing it's able to display on its screen are parrots.

I thought it could display other types of birds as well, but it freezes up if I try to display egrets or loons. And it claims that penguins don't even count as birds.

So...this is probably a good deal for pirates seeking to bring computational challenges that previously required grid computing onto the desktop. But if you're looking for something with broader ornithological potential, I'd consider other options.

The machine has attracted some rave reviews. One reviewer said he woke up in a chair with lots of plugs in his body and Orpheus told him that he was inside the Viewsonic machine. He said that when the 30TB computer was invented it downloaded the whole world. He wrote this review from an Internet caff in the Viewsonic machine, he said.

Another reviewer comments that the odour creation card is a wonderful feature, while another said when he plugged it in, his local nuclear power plant provided him with the juice necessary to work the machine. Even though it eventually burnt down half of his house, his computer stayed safe.

This is the type of piece that we normally save for slow Fridays, but it's a slow Thursday, so here you go. It appears that the folks at Amazon listed a ViewSonic laptop (they make laptops?) where they put a few extra zeros in the data, such that it was pumping out some serious power. The processor ran at 10 GHz and the hard-drive could store a cool 30,000 GB. This is when some folks with more than a little extra free time decided to write some amusing reviews of this laptop from the future. The more you read, the more amusing they get. Amazon has fixed the typos (amusingly, the Techweb article has a typo of its own, saying that the real hard drive is only "30 MB" suggesting it's not so hard to make an error in the other direction as well) but the reviews keep coming: "Mine just arrived yesterday, and man is it fast. I loaded Folding At Home (FAH), and it instantly found a cure for cancer and parkinsons. It was also able to run a brute force discovery of every prime number; It reached infinity in under 32 seconds!!! It turns out that there are only 32,994,234,116,781,042 prime numbers!!! Not bad huh?"

... I think that is enough laugh for a day. At the end, for the smiley appropriate for the thread...
