I don't know how many people on here are motorsport fans, but I'm a huge fan of most forms of motor racing and came across this on the BBC website:

BBC SPORT | Motorsport | Da Matta badly injured in crash

Do any of you Americans know any more about this, or how serious it is? I hate seeing racing drivers injured and the nature of the accident makes it worse as it could not have been avoided (a deer strolled out in front of his car).

Anyway, just wanted to say Get Well Soon to Da Matta and hope he makes a full recovery and this seems like a good place to post it.

Here's another article on it, it's very sad that something like this happened... Get Well Soon Cristiano.

I've met Da Mata once. AFAIK Da Mata situation is really bad, but as he's out from Formula one, the TV media has kept his accident "hidden" or at least they thought he's not good enough to be mentioned.

Da Mata is an awesome pilot, a very nice person, and I really hope he gets well soon, to teach drivers around the world how to hit a deer, be near death and return, for everyone else's surprise.
