Well, I can't seem to figure out how to link to the video directly, but if you go here, click on the first search result "Police Brutality Trial Starts" to see the news story including the video of the beating.

By the way, this video was from the cop's own dash camera. You would think they would at least pull him out of view before pummeling him.

KXAN Search

There's still some confusion about how much of a struggle the guy put up, but at the point this video was shot, he was in handcuffs and on the ground.

That is true, but it is also true that only a small portion of the video is shown on the news (and if you watch carefully they loop it back at least once during the news story). I would like to see the whole video before I get too judgemental on the cops, but from what I have been able to see there was no need for continued violence (whether it was warrented in the first place is what we don't know for sure).

I can't get this to work. Somebody said recently there are better things to play things on than Media Player. That is no longer working for me, can you suggest something free I can see this on? seeing it is you, Darzog, I am NOT SORRY to be a nuisance

Well said Fiona!

I think that Media Player Classic will work for you. http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/

Thanks for that Darzog.

Now the next step is where I say what do I do with it? Do I click on the green bit?

When I go to the KXAN link, I click on the "Police Brutality Trial Starts" link and it opens Media Player for me automatically. Don't know what to tell ya.

@ Darzog. you are not really grasping the enormity of this problem, are you (imagine the most illiterate, innumerate person you can: Subtract your own ability with computers; divide by two and multiply by 0. You now have the figure which best represents my understanding of this stuff)

When I click on the link you provided there is a green bit. When I click on that it gives a big list of things. To get the player, what do I do? (can I apologise yet?)

OK, now I get it. I thought your problem was with the link to the news story from the first post. OK, I'll go through the second link I provided (to the media player). I hadn't actually followed the download link all the way so I didn't realize it gave you this massive list. I thought it was a simple, click the green box and you get the file. My turn to apologize.

Follow the link.
Click on the green box with "Download guliverkli".

This takes you to a massive list of applications. The first section is just a list of applications, but if you scroll down below that, each application has its own mini-section with some detailed information and additional links. In this lower section scroll down until you see "Media Player Classic" (its a little more than 1/2 way down the page).

Click on the link "mpc2kxp6490.zip"
"mpc" - Media player Classic
"2kxp" - Win2k or WinXP
"6490" - version 6.4.9.0
zip format

The next screen let's you select a mirror close to where you live for a faster download. Find a good location and click the Download link next to it. It may take a few seconds for the download to appear, but that should get you the file.

You don't need to install the file, just unzip the mplayerc.exe file and double-click it. You can set the file associations with View >> Options >> Formats.

I hope it works now. And sorry again.

Thanks for your trouble Darzog. I have now done all of that and I am pretty sure I downloaded it. It stole it and buried it and it still doesn't work. And I can't find where it has put it so I can't start again.

I am beyond help with these things . I give up

I haven't got media player any more either, somehow. It wasn't working properly but it did play music I already had on the machine and CD's. Doesn't do either now. DJ warned me to try anything I should have listened to him

Well, too bad that you couldn't get it working.

For anyone that was interested, the officers were found not guilty today.

(These links just have the story too if you can't watch the video )
