| | | Master of Orion III goes gold Yes, it's now official. Just saw the huge image (looking like a cross between Carmen Miranda and Alien) declaring that fact on Quicksilver's MOO3 site.
So is there anybody besides myself here who is going to be avidly playing this turn-based strategy game? WELL??

| | Yet it won't be released in NZ for another month. No fair.
However, I've had it on pre-order at Gameplanet NZ for a couple of weeks now

Still, I'm not sure when it will release. Infogrames has set a tentative date of 2/23, though that could get moved up.

The expected date of release here is Feb 28. I really hope it's not later than that.

What's the policy and attitude of New Zealanders towards American immigrants these days?

| | | Leap of Faith Ok,thanks again! I am getting the game through some other channel, as Amazon doesn't allow orders outside US.
The only strategy games I have played so far are Romance of the 3 Kingdoms and Empire Earth, so this will be my third. |

KOEI did a superb product for the PC (yes, I know it's still being made for some of the kiddie platforms, but...). Their development plans were woefully inadequate for the American market, however.
Glad in any case that you're getting MOO III. I've been impressed in my mid-beta with the game's strategic depth, the sheer variety of controls you have over your race's development. I can't speak to the diplomatic AI, since it wasn't well-tuned in that beta, but beta testers that have played later versions are ecstatic over it. They say it far exceeds the old AI in Microprose's MOO II, and that of most strategy games out there. We'll see, and soon.
