| | Mail order problems anyone? I just recieved a package in the mail today that I had been waiting on. It's the new game I ordered last week through ebay. Now I stress new, because it was new. Sealed up and shiny and everything. The place that I did business with sent it to me promptly and in the condition they promised me.
However, there were two discs to come with it. Now, normally thats not a problem, you have Disc 1, then Disc 2. Simple stuff, right? Obviously not this time. The manufacturer gave me 2 copies of Disc 1, and no Disc 2. So, while happily installing my new game, it supplied me with the message "Please insert Disc 2 and click OK to finish install". Well, I pulled the old one out, set it down, stuck the new one in, waited for it to load and clicked OK. Then I got the same message.
I then pulled out the disc, looked at it and what did it say? "Disc 1 Installation disc". I looked at the first one, and it said the same thing. So, now I'm frustrated with the company who made and packaged this game. Which would have been about 7 years ago as it is an old game.
So, I figured I'd post my experience here, as it has been my first bad experience with ordering things through the mail/online of this sort. I was curious if anyone else has had similar problems?

| | | Have you emailed the Ebay seller? They may be able to do something...if it was me, I would at the very least offer a refund.

| | Yes I did, I emailed them the situation and asked what they would be willing to do. That kind of thing happens and given how it was packaged I know they were unaware of it themselves. They did wonderful business with me, shipped it very promptly (from england btw ) and it was in good condition except for that. So I'll see what it is they say.

| | Well the company was awesome and that same night I made my problem known, they set to work shipping me a new. So, I got a new, opened, game. They made sure this time they sent me one with 2 discs. I'm happy now, I'll just hope it runs as it says it has problems with every OS aside from Windows 95/98. Didn't say that when I ordered the thing.

| | You got you disc now, don't start whining about you OS, just change it ffs!
Anyway what game is it, must be very special if it's 7 years old and you're still ordering it.

| | It's crashing, won't play.
It's that Wizards and Warriors game. I figured for $13 why not try it. Well...this would be a good reason eh? Buck posted something about having problems with it 2 hours after I ordered it and paid for and I was like "wonderful...maybe it will work for me though!" and it doesn't. It said something about needing a codec from a website, which the website charges $14.95 for a bundle pack, not guaranteed to fix third-party software problems.
So, paying for that isn't guaranteed to fix it, meaning if I double my money and still don't get to play it, I'm setting it on fire instead and that's no good. Keeps erroring and saying it can't write something to a file or some nonsense now too. Bah for that game.
I still have my Eye of the Beholder series to play if I want to go back in time.

| | Have you tried adjusting the windows compatibility, to see if that helps any?
It may be cold consolation, but I found that game way buggy when I ran it on Win 98. I got bored and gave up.

| | Yeah I tried that, and it just downright freezes my whole system. I'm not tinkering with it to see something ruined by everything crashing in an attempt to get it right. I handed it off to my roommate and told him if he could get it to work he could keep it.
Really great service from the seller though.
