I'm making people believe I'm handy by casually mentioning there is a belt sander on my desk.
| | 2 | 28.57% | |
The skin lotion and the belt sander actually go together.
| | 2 | 28.57% | |
The skin lotion is near my computer for a very specific reason.
| | 2 | 28.57% | |
I've actually run out of bandaids, which is why there are post-its on my desk.
| | 1 | 14.29% | |
The combination of the Verveine leaves and anti-histamines makes a pretty good amphetamine.

.. and turn your head. Tell us what else is on your desktop next to the keyboard. Woohoo! It's crazy.
- empty 'Congratulations!' mug
- tea sieve with Verveine in it
- three dictionaries (Dutch-English, Dutch-Norwegian, Dutch)
- bag of tea leaves
- bottle opener
- scissors
- Nivea skin lotion
- antihistamines
- cloth brush
- belt sander
- calculator
- post-its
- soldering iron
- AAA batteries
- box of Sony CD-R audio discs
- pocket guide to our minor program
- epoxy syringe, with dried container
- black comb
- bandaids
- printer with on top a newspaper and an empty plate
- a thick wad of cash I got from Dragon Wench for not making fun of her for buying Oblivion
I looked at this pile a minute ago when that weird movie Apollo 13 suddenly crossed my mind. What kind of insipid contraptions could a room full of MIT graduates come up with if I gave them an hour?

You forgot your meds today?
Alright, here is what I see next to my keyboard right now: a few unopened letters that will remain unopened, four game boxes, a 'Financial Footnote' that tells me that I should compare my funds to their benchmarks, whatever that means, a Seiko digital alarm clock, a bottle of cognac and a cup of coffee.
I want my share of dough because I kept DW's secret up until now.

| | @Tricky,
lol! Er... I always said I would give Oblivion a try once the GOTY edition was cheap and there were plenty of mods to deal with the excessive dumbing down
My desk area consists of a 3D (non electronic) address book, a couple of games, my son's Ipod box, computer speakers, a small replica of a Japanese Buddha, a miniature gargoyle and a variety of papers that need to be sorted. @LD, it was no secret, anybody reading the Oblivion forum could have seen my posts on the game

Hehe, great thread.
My desk is, miraculously, clean at the moment. There is nothing next to my keyboard. However, this is only because I came back from a LAN party yesterday and, while resetting up my computer, relocated my desk junk somewhere else.
Also, I love the roll-eyes emoticon, it's just so cute!

Aside from a small stack of papers, I have a headset, a pair of speakers and a backup hard drive.

Home PC: To the right, a large stack of DVDs, two packs of tea. Some old photos that I scanned months ago, a spray can of gun-oil(?) a nail-clipper, the "Dawn of War" collector's pack, a dirty wine glass, two cd's with no markings.
To the left: A monster scanner. An empty wine bottle, more DVDs, a stack of papers, an antique beer-stein filled with pens and pencils, a book on trout-fishing, two shotgun shells, an amputated action figure of Aragorn with both arms chewed off, the "CS3 for Dummies all-in-one", some pieces of Lego.
Center: Keyboard, the worlds most humongous hand-made tea cup.
oh, and there a speakers everywhere.

Looking down, I only see my laptop and my legs. I have a desktop computer both at the lab and at home, but at home I prefer lying comfortably in bed with my laptop.
