Please describe, for our voyeuristic pleasure, the room that you live in. Your bedroom, or whatever room you inhabit most and most reflects your ideal conditions for functioning .

Do you live in a minimalist Zen garden of tranquility, with only a bonsai tree and a turquoise i-mac, as I suspect Minerva may well do?
An ancient library, the only non-book entity being a PC and maybe a slipper full of tobacco, as I suspect fable may?
A teenage crithouse full of 200ADs from when you were a kid, a busted Super-NES and a cheap bong?
Possibly you wallow in the urban charm of something like Marlowe's boudoire...a filing cabinet, fold out spring bed and a bottle of rum, newspaper cuttings on the floor?

Please describe your room, or if it is not terribly exciting or representative, have a guess at someone else's room ...
A mystery prize at the end to anyone who manages to describe with a reasonable degree of accuracy the dwelling place of a SYMer they have never met... So go to it

Well single room studio. There is a bed, sofa, small table, a couple of posters hmmm...my computer hooked up to my stereo and computer speakers for surround sound. A tv, vcr and that is it. What else do you need? Oh yeah clothes on the floor form the carpet and the food is for your viewing and eating pleasure. No food stays on teh floor longer than 2 days, i usually eat it before then

Well, ok. But it might be a tad disturbing, so those that are weak, avert your eyes!

Well upon entry in my room, you'll see a large dresser against the wall, thats half empty. On top youll see a garfield tear-away day-to-day calendar. To the right of the dresser is my air conditioner, with the tan curtains closed. On the wall next to the air conditioner to the right, you'll see a self-portrait that I made and am proud of and alongside that, is a poster I recieved from my late-great aunt. Against the wall, is my models that Ive made-many many ships-maybe 15 actually. Following the wall, theres the entrance. To the left of the entrance is an empty dresser-my older one that Im too lazy to take away. And on the wall on that side is a map and several pictures of birds-maybe 20-30 different birds. Next to the dresser is a table with a small tv, that I hardly watch, and next to that, Ive got my die-cast collection of NASCAR cars. I have about 75 on show, and in perfect condition. Some models dating back to 1994. On the next table, youll find my radio shaped like a 57 chevy. Next to that- a continuation of my die-cast collection. Then on the next table-my alarm clock along with wallet and whatever else I want to bring with me to school that fits into pockets. And then youve reaced my bed, with marble colored sheets. Against the wall, more bird and animal pictures against the wall. After that, youve encountered my dresser again.

There you have it. My room. Pretty creepy, eh?

I spend a great deal of time in my computer/entertainment room but that is boring so i will speak of my bedroom instead.

On enterance to my room one is greeted by a bookcase on the left featuring all manner of weird crap from Dean Koontz through to Gaiman's Sandman.

On the right is a set of cupboards, constructed in the main part by me, featuring clothes and other assorted items.

Straight ahead are some shelves, put up by me, featuring more literature of the eclectic persuasion and many computer games.

There underneath all that sits my bed. Just South of my bed is a recliner which is one of my posession purchased from my long time at work and I am kind of proud of it. Also opposite that is a booster for the TV reception.

Other than that it is a standard room with Blue wallpaper and blue carpet, although the wallpaper is coming away a little in the corner...i need to look at that!

I live in a renovated train carriage, which while only around 2 meters wide is very long (around 48 feet, IIRC), at one end there's a double bed, which for some reason (namely I like high beds) is raised to around 5 feet off the floor. Underneath the bed are a bunch of cupboards etc where I keep my clothes. On the wall above the double bed is a reading light, a Neon genesis Evangelion poster from Italy, and an ornamental katana. On the bed is a bunch of stuffed animals I can't quite bring myself to stick in a box somewhere Besides this is my reverse cycle air conditioner, and a Balinese hand fan depicting a small fishing village. At the end of the bed there's a foot or so spare, on this I keep my CD player. A bit below the CD player is a dented white wooden bookshelf which doesn't have nearly enough books in it for my tastes, what it does have is a thing called a 'UFO' which rotates and send coloured light through fiber optic cables (you know you're in a stoners house when...), and my (quite small) CD collection. Right next to my bookshelf is a beige couch, which I bought at a white elephant sale for the princely sum of $20. After cleaning off the mold that was on it it was fine aside from a few small tears in the material (which are covered by the blue throw rug I have anyway), between the couch and bookshelf there's a sketch pad I have to start using more often. Opposite the couch is an old TV set, a VCR, and a Super NES (I got bored of my N64 a while back and got an old SNES instead), all in a black wooden video cabinet thingy. On top of the TV is a small model hut from Thailand, made of bamboo, and a scented candle which I need to move. On the wall behind the couch we have 2 more NGE posters. The curtains are made of a heavy white fabric, and due to my mother's sometimes dubious taste have a pattern of blue cats on them. In the center of the railway carriage is a plastic picnic table and 4 picnic chairs, a bit over from this is my kitchen...Ah, what the heck, I'll just wait 'til I can post the photos.

Well, actually mine is a bit like the Zen-garden you just described there, except for a couple of changes; It´s not an i-mac, it´s a PC. There´s a bed (!) in the corner, a shower and a fridge. Everything is a kinda white see-through color, like the magneto prison in the x-men movie, and the garden is soft dark, with fireflyes soaring high above. Oh, and I want it COMPLETELY shut away from every city in the nearest 500 miles, and no cellphone or TV. Come to think about it, not even a regular phone.
The fridge, of course is filled with ice tea and beer, and some food.
The door to the outside would be transparent, and sensor-controlled. And don´t forget the tiny little stream of gurgling water, that is just about the only sound I can stand listening to 24/7...

@Frogus - ok -so I'm guessing - is this your room - and you're having a party with some friends from the 'hood ? http://www.froschfotos.de/Bilder/haussmann/Alu07.JPG

or are you over at Kam's for some plotting of how to take over the board ? http://www.afunk.com/chameleon/pictures/003.jpg

No worries, but MY quarters are BOOOOOOORING....since all the interesting things have been locked away since our kids started to walk and pull things down from the shelf .

My room is for either three things, sleeping, listening to music privately or reading/studying. Although recently it has become a place to store all the junk that I keep buying and finding. Must move out soon...

I move about the house freely and refuse to believe that I spend more time in one place then another.

As I've mentioned before, I live in a white trash neighborhood sort of But, oh is the rent cheap! (And what's more important, not being worried about your safety, or being worried about money??)

I won't mention the bedroom as it's not very interesting except for the old nintendo on the floor with which I've been kicking everyone else's asses at 'Super Mario Brothers'. Apparently THEY didn't spend a good part of their childhood learning how to beat the thing and NOW who's laughing?! *ahem* Sorry about that.

So, to the room I spend most of my time in:

A tiny little room off the kitchen. It has a lovely view of the parking lot and our drugged up neighbors. Because I am a computer geek I keep the shades drawn at all times. It has my computer with its protective wood barrier around the computer box and wires (My SO built this to protect my computer from the bunnies, unfortunately they've learned how to crawl behind the thing and pull wires out for their eating pleasure. Ate clean through my speaker wire they did!)

Then there is the zoo. Two huge cages, each cage contains one small rabbit. Why not put them together you ask? Because they are right now trying to kill each other, long story. Also there is a guinea pig cage, it's free if you'll take the guinea pigs that reside inside it, I'll even throw in some timothy hay.

The walls are white. The floor is slick white/black kitchen tile.

There are black and white sketches all over the place, but most of them fall to the ground and get chewed on...

*sighs*

We've got this water squirter, but we're using it to stop the kill fests mainly... Have I mentioned that squirting the bunnies with water is now my SO's favorite nightly activity?
