"Kiss the cat and put the wife out" is my name for when your brain goes to sleep while you're doing some simple thing that you've done a million times and you end up switching things up by accident. I know I find myself doing this a lot, maybe I'm just absent-minded.

like for instance I'll go to the coffee-make, get out a new filter and throw it in the trash, then start dumping coffee in without a filter. Meanwhile the whole time I'm humming some song or reliving some epic battle from Civ3.

so I call it kissing the cat and putting the wife out (theres a dirtier way of saying it but I'll leave that to your imagination for the sake of the children )

This reminds me of the end of the Flintstones when the cat puts Fred out....

Have you ever thought about joining the CRS club?

Excellant benefits, but I can't remember what they are

I am very interested in this "CRS club"...I like clubs. What do I have to do to join...oh yeah and what does CRS stand for?

(I did a search on it - it's funny when you put in an acronym in a search engine, the same couple letters stand for so many different things to different people. It just goes to show how important context is...I can say: "/me 1337 boxen scruxxors BG2, IWD/HOW is da bomb though on my GF3ti200, maybe its my KG7 RAID" and it will make perfect sense...to SOME!)

We call it Sometimers Disease.

It's like the time I took a nap, then got up spent a good five minutes looking for my glasses only to find them on my face.

I take out a pen to write with.
Then i put it back and wonder what happened to the pen.
I normally do this like 2 a day.
Esp when i am in class.
Talk about stupid!

This sounds a lot like "brush your hair and comb your teeth," as my dad says. It also reminds me of the time I fell asleep while driving, but continued to stay on the road and in my lane for about 10 minutes before I woke up again.

Anyone here suffering from Oldtimer's Disease? Is the phrase "Been there, done that, can't remember" the story of your life? My dad does so he decided to start taking Gingko Biloba, but kept forgetting to take it.

I once spent five minutes trying to find a contact lens I thought I had dropped when I was putting it in, only to discover I had put them both in the same eye...

@Georgie - LOL about the contact lense thing.

Not related to the whole "F*** the cat and put the wife out thing", I am also the master of forgetting what I wanted to get from the room that I just walked into. Don't have a good name for that though.
