Found this little "gem" surfing around:

USA: Nottingham Forest - Utterly arrogant and motivated by European success. If they suffer the slightest injustice the whole world hears about it.

Al Qaeda: Millwall - Thugs who like to take out opponents behind the play. Capable of upsetting just about anyone. Leader is a paranoid nutter.

UK: Crystal Palace - Trying to move forward having been stuck in the past for decades. Have a leader who loves the sound of his own voice, full of rhetoric whilst ducking the important issues.

France: Burnley - Perennial bridesmaids. Have a huge armoury but heavily criticized in the past for misfiring. More likely to bore you to death than to be a real threat to anyone. Leader has a habit of turning a blind eye.

Pakistan: Norwich - Trying hard to be one of the big boys, but has upset a large percentage of its supporter base through its over involvement with 'foreign' (FF related) parties. Could soon experience a revolt within its own ranks.

The Taliban: Brighton - Strict disciplinarians where members are measured as much by what they wear and do as who they are. Leadership suffered a bit of a shock recently but clinging to life and always hard to beat at home. Very much a bloke's team.

India: Sheffield Wednesday - A sleeping giant, not a contender at the moment but with a huge supporter base. Likes to think it's opinion is worth plenty, yet is largely ignored by non fans. Local derbies can be a bit fiery.

The Northern Alliance: Ipswich - An undisciplined rabble in need of sponsorship pounds.

Israel: Sheffield United - Rabid supporters tucked away everywhere and usually only become vocal when they start winning. See themselves as the chosen few but in reality suffer from an over inflated sense of self. Local transport can be a bit dodgy.

Palestine: Wimbledon - A team currently looking for a home, had been on the periphery for many years before the mid 90s. Not regarded as a big contender but has a strong youth policy. Funded by rich Arabs.

Japan: Stoke - No attack, last campaign of any note 1942. Big player financially in the 1980s, however struggling a bit these days.

Iraq: Birmingham - Serious hard arses who could be on the way back. Opponents prefer to see them out of the Division. Most of their neighbours hate them, they know it..

Russia: - Newcastle - Once a great superpower, recently in decay. Have chosen some real muppets as leaders

Uzbekistan: Leicester - Stuck in the middle. Light on ammunition.

Germany: Wolves - Tendency to self destruct. A strong history but off the scene of late. Unfortunate uniforms.

Australia: Gillingham - Completely harmless. Not a contender. Just in it to make up the numbers. Supporters are loyal but regularly embarrassed.

Egypt: Derby - Had a crack at world dominance and though the remnants are still there they hark back to the glory days. A bit over defensive and vulnerable up the middle.

Please note that no country can be associated with Middlesborough. The closest thing was Lebanon but apparently certain parts of war torn Beirut are bordering on pleasant."

Ok, so some of the "countries" aren't actual countries, but still isn't it just wonderful to see how well football relates to "everyday life"...

That is fantastic, how true.

ROFL! Yes, bordering on relegation to Division 2 () with a stadium that can seat 40,000 and an average gate of 26,000.

Nice one Karembeu

*sigh* today it happened Wednesday have been relegated to division 2. A sad day indeed for the Owls and their faithful followers.

I'm sorry Ysh. I did like Sheffield Wednesday, it's a shame considering their pedigree...

Thanks, Nippy. Yeah, it is hard to imagine that only 10 years ago we were third in the Premiership and in two cup finals *sigh* Being a privately owned club, with a considerable amount of debt from trying to keep up with the big PLCs and pay those level of wages, we really need to get back down to the bare bones and start again. We do not have ways of raising the revenue like Man U et al, but we do have a faithful gate. That will help. Who'd've thought Man City would have hit Division 2? but they did. I just hope we will be able to bounce back as they did.

I think if you take a look at Leeds you see a bad example of PLC management - they spent a large amount of money on players, and didn't take into account losses, whereas if you have Newcastle, they invested in property and property never loses money, so it worked for the best.

I think what Wednesday need to do is get fresh young players in, not concentrate on promotion, just breed their players to the competition...

Good thing there are more important things to life than football....

At least it looks like Sheffield could have one team in the Premiership next year...doesn't make you feel any better though...(actually if you're a "Wednesday-fan" that was probably just "rubbing salt in your wounds")....

Still you need your "downs" to really be able to compare and appreciate your "ups". Think positive....at least you won't be accused of being a "glory supporter"...

@Nippy, I agree *fingers crossed* for a new start...

@Karembeu, and I thought you liked me?

They will never call me a fair weather supporter, that is for sure. I am looking forward to battering a few second division hides next season!

Lol...there's a word in Swedish for that kind of love...."hate-love"?!?...

I know what it feels like for one's favourite team to not do too well. Let's just say I don't care so much about SheffW, but still I wouldn't wish that feeling on you...

I will ask CE or Dottie about this, indifferent at best but not hate-love?

Thank you, I appreciate your empathy

@Yshania: I still don't understand why Wednesday is more important than any other day. You really need to get over this. And why does a thread about football not have anything about the Packers or the Steelers?

Believe me, it is there...I'm just having trouble expressing it in a good way....

Anyway, a female that one can talk some football with is rather rare nowadays. A rare but oh so important quality...
Um...I guess that's my way of saying that you are....okay...

@Thantor3: Breaks my heart to see yet another thread desecrated with that kind of filth.... "American football" is an "endangered species", an affront to nature which in a generation or two will be wiped off the face of the earth....
