How do I get an avatar?....
I can't access the list for some reason, and I don't have the capability to do a custom one....
Any clues would be helpful, thanks

First, you need to do a Ixithian Fire ritual to the appropriate god or goddess of your choice, dressing in bearskin. Then...
Sorry, couldn't resist. 
My first instinct would be to have someone send you one that you could use. They have to be 50x50 pixels in size, according to the error messages I kept getting...

@Der-draigen, try http://mysmilies.com/ for some possible avatars. Then go the area where you can edit your profile, and add the avatar address in the appropriate box. That should work.

And you know what happened to the last one who was off by a few minutes? He was discovered in small pieces scattered all over the surrounding countryside, the next day. And his predeccessor turned into a Republican!

@Fable: it is fine to put the fear of God into neophyte apprentices, but scaring them out of their wits by mentioning Republicians is crossing the line...

I used a portrait that I originally downloaded for BG2. I had to crop it and change the format though.

It was too horizontally rectangular for IWD, though, but it didn't take much to get it fit into here.
