| | I measure my life in... I started talking with a girl I broke up with in October again today for the first time since oh, October. It led us to catching up and stuff while she was writing a paper for her English 2 course. She's been working a full-time job and going to school full time as well, so of course, she has a lack of sleep between those two and doing her college assignments.
She mentioned that she measures her life in coffee spoons now. That's funny to me, just because I know how she gets without her coffee in the morning. It made me think though, what would everyone have in their life that would be able to be a way to measure and pattern their life?
I thought about this for a while, and I had a tough time. I drink a lot, but that's inconsistant. I read a lot, but that's random, the same with things I do on the computer. I spend an awful lot of time on there, but I can't say that I measure myself in it. No, I think I can measure my life in women. Everything relates back to a span of my time whether I was single, dating someone, or getting over someone. EVERYTHING. I don't know why.
So, I had to wonder, what do you people at SYM measure your lives in?

| | | I measure my life in good ol Mountain Dew. The more Dew, the better.
Without my Dew, I'd be angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.
........................
Ok, that's been used WAYYY too much now hasn't it.
Ahhh, but seriously, my bro would measure his in comics. Good god the dude has 4000 comics! That is NOT an exaggeration. |

| | I am quite addicted to caffiene. Taking caffiene out of my life leaves me with a headache and an irritated fatigued state. Taking meat out of my life, well, I've had friends pull over to get me a burger when I was with them becuase I get so nasty. Probably just the lack of protein and the effect it has on my body and mood, but I get NASTY. Sadistic and verbally abusive in the extreme, not to mention I go looking for fights.
Still, it all boils down to women. Whether it's the female friend I'm devoting my time to helping out, or the girl I've made my pet, or that I'm dating. Whatever. It all comes down to women.

| | Hardly Casanova...lately I've had a hard enough time keeping from women wanting to cause me bodily harm. Today went great with one, but horrible with a few others. Oh well...
There's nothing that sticks out, that if you take away everything else, you know would still be there day after day as a regular thing?

| | I measure my life from the morning I have to drag myself out of bed and head out for another day of unpredictable excitement, happiness or misery, until the following morning.
I take my life one day at a time, rise to meet the challenges that day presents - deal with tommorow's problems when tommorow comes.
Thats the only 'measurement' I could give |

| | | These days, the thing I do most often at regular intervals is feeding my two hungry kittens every six hours. So I guess I measure my life in packages of Friskies Fine Cuts with Chicken in Gravy. |

| | | You know... this is a really interesting idea Mag. I never quite thought about it this way before.
I recently (May 2004) graduated from Undergrad. I went to school on the Eastern Shore of Maryland which is, for all those who don't know, a very rural and slow moving area. I was a philosophy major, and so I guess that I would say that for the first four years of my adult life, I measured my life in late mornings and great thoughts. Every day I'd wake up when I felt like it, bet ready for the day, and then go learn about something astounding, like Rousseau's discourses, or Marx's humanistic side. I loved spending a morning getting ready for the afternoon, and then spending afternoon thinking and talking. After such a hectic afternoon, I'd normally relax with friends or just by myself.
Now, I have a 9-5 job, and so my life isn't nearly as idylic as it was a few years ago. I wake up before I like to, and my day is incriments. 6:30-7:45, prepare for work. 7:45-8:20, get to work. 8:25-5:30, work work work... you see where this is going. My life now is about trying to get comfortable doing this every day. Thus far I don't know if I am in a good spot in the Rat Race, and so I measure my days in hours and incriments, time before lunch and after, whether or not I make the 6:00 class for kickboxing, whether or not I get to bed on time.

| | I measure my life with my SYM postcount.
To be honoust, I don't 'measure' my life but I strive to gather as much enjoyment as possible. Enjoyment can be anything, a cup of coffie with a friend, a party, a game of mario kart, a trip to a fun park or a date. Enjoement is best enjoyed together.

| | | I measure my life by my accomplishments, past & present. They seem to bring more respect to me than much of anything else. Without them, I may not have (as much) respect from my employers, my aquaintences, etc. That, and my conscientious demeanor.
