However, I reserve those kind of hugs for people I'm comfy with and are comfy about me hugging them.
There's also the "beso-beso" (Spanish, "kiss-kiss"). More like cheek to cheek.

@Mac: I sort've do the same as you, but one step further. I'm very open about sexuality, and very comfortable with mine and my friends. With that said, I have a couple bi-sexual friends. One night, to freak out some known homophobs, I reached over the table, and frenched my buddy Jason without batting an eyelash. 
Of course, that was quickly followed by a body shot off my friend Jess  |
