I remember when i was around age 12-13, i met a boy that tried to show off in front of the others by pointing at an airplane in the sky and commenting: wow, that thing must be flying AT LEAST at the speed of light... (my dad being a physics wiz i tried to explain that 1200 km/h are nowhere near 300 000 km/s, and that no solid object could approach such speeds.. i was laughed at )
But the top i think was a 12 year old girl that firmly believed that the stars are NEEDLES stuck on the sky - because her ignorant grandmother who still used a horse and plow told her so...  |
