CM, sometimes people who ask such questions have a hidden agenda. The reason why it matters is because such people can actually manipulate other people. It has been proven many times over. If you don't care, that's your choice. But don't try to deny the consequences.
Vondondu last I remember I don't believe baseless assumptions about a poster were the norm of SYM. But hey I have been gone for a month or so, i bet the atmosphere could have changed to one where we accuse first without proof.

I certainly don't see the "leap of faith" that is being taken form one question to manipulation. Certainly can't see how a thread on SYM can have consquences on a person's life, but I guess the net influences people's lives differently.

I just don't like seeing people making baseless assumptions regarding a new poster, be it with an assumed hidden agenda or because they were out for kicks.

CM, I said the question looked suspicious--that is, reminiscent of a "dirty trick" used for political purposes--and I questioned the motives of the poster. Then I elaborated on the kind of dirty tricks to which I was referring. I didn't "make assumptions" about the poster. I guess I need to point out that asking questions is not the same thing as "making assumptions". I try to avoid making assumptions because assumptions keep people from considering other possibilities. I would rather keep an open mind and consider other possibilities. Otherwise, I might stop asking questions.

The question is pretty weird in the first place. "Do you think that same-sex marriage will become available to all adult couples in future decades whether they be same-sex or opposite-sex spouses?" Uh, no, I don't think that same-sex marriage will EVER be possible for opposite-sex spouses, by definition. What the heck is that supposed to mean? Nobody else has wondered about that because people like you seem to be assuming that the question makes sense.

The fact that someone quoted a passage from that website has implications, but I'm not sure what they are.

We still don't know who G.N.H.S.04 is. Maybe he or she is sympathetic to the idea of same-sex marriage, or maybe he or she is a reactionary who finds it threatening. But do you still believe it's not a loaded question?
Oh no, I agree that it is a loaded question - all I'm saying is that it's not likely to cause that much trouble here. Interesting that you found the source though - it wouldn't have occurred to me to look for it.

LOL Goes to show that us spammers never read anything properly, eh? Mind you, even if it was badly worded, the gist of it was obvious.

@Brynn Like I said, tree-hugging hippy liberals.
