| | Holiday gifts What do you expect for the holidays giftwise, and/or what are you giving yourself?
So I'm in a terse mood, today. Deal wit' it.

| | Even though i'm not Christian(no presents), but i really don't follow my religion that much, so my family got a tree, and some simple gifts.
I know i'm getting a Led Zeplin and and Metallica "1983-1988" guitar music sheet books. They're quite expensive for being sheet music. |

| | I'm expecting assorted CDs and books from my Amazon wishlist, and probably money from a few relatives. Nothing fancy
My family isn't Christian either. I'm trying to persuade my mother not to put any decorations up (she says they get in the way anyway) but she's worried that people will think that's boring...

| | After two years away from family during Xmas... I'd finally get a Christmas kiss from my wife and son.
Some designer shirts (again) from my significant other. She always likes me to "dress up" once in a while...
...but hey, who am I to complain... ?
...not unless she'd be using my credit card again! |

| I really like that one. That's me, just an old softy at heart. http://www.plauder-smilies.de/xmas/santabgrin.gif
My wife is giving me a very hard-to-find tarot deck, and some other stuff about which she's being very careful to say nothing. I've got some unusual teas, several historical mystery books, soaps with Indian scents and a gold pin to give her. http://www.plauder-smilies.de/xmas/santasmile.gif
This despite the fact that I celebrate the Solstice, rather than any other Judeo-Christian holiday. But we keep a tree, because it's nice, warm, colorful, and makes her feel good.

| | All I ask for for Christmas anymore is money. This is because my "Christmas List" is too complex for my parents and grandparents to understand. Asking for video games, computer games, anime DVDs, and manga makes it to easy for them to purchase the wrong thing. By just getting money, I can pick out what I want on my own. This year, I plan on getting BG2, either a Sailor moon DVD or Neon Genesis Evangelion DVD, and a manga. I haven't figured out what else, though I have been considering getting a PSX, if I can find the PSX Sailor Moon game. |

| | One is never old to appreciate and be softy at heart, my friend.
As for myself, I plan to buy a simple PSone. I could buy PS2 but then again I'd think of my son and well, I'd rather keep the extra money and save it for him.
Fatherhood has made a profound change in me...
...I'm beginning to get those "love-handles" around my waist! |

| Reminds me of my first Xmas right after I had my first job after graduation. The first Xmas gift I bought myself was a capuccino/espresso maker by Krups.
I began appreciating good coffee since I began burning the midnight oil to finish off tons and tons of paperwork in college...
...yeah, those were the days... Quote:

| | Since my mom is anime-literate I'm getting the DVD's I asked for. Oh joy. Two Sailor Moon S DVD's (dubbed & uncut), Gundam Wing Endless Waltz (dubbed & uncut), and an Ah! My Goddess one. Don't know about that one but it looks good.
Everyone else, just money. For the DVDs. Or maybe I'll ask Grandma to let me borrow her credit card for a week

| I've been trying to encourage this for years. It works with the non-immediate family members, but my parents don't like just giving me money. Anyone would have thought they think I'll spend it all on going out drinking...
