So, in all seriousness, I'd certainly be one to suggest waiting until a child is born before naming it.

| | | Aquatic? Yeah, your claim is true. But I myself thought about mycelia of mushrooms or other fungi.
But about names, well... there are names such as Aslög, Britt, Ulf, Tyra, Torgny or På. Yet my favourite would be “Bo”, I don’t have the slightest idea on how it should be pronounced, yet I find it terribly cute name for a boy or girl.
Bo Elegans.

Edit: Since there were quite some norwegians staying in the same hovel over there on the west side, I'm hoping one of them were related to the norwegian royal family... you wouldn't believe the rabble scandinavians call nobility - they're all desperately trying to wash away the dirt under their fingernails.
Ah, Bo is out, but Boo would work if it had an older brother called Minsc - who we would need to drop on his head to achieve the proper effect.

Queen Kristina resigned as regent in 1644, and relinquished all claims to the throne to the benefit of Karl X of the Pfalzisch (sp?) line. I'm ashamed to be associated with you.
@Faberge: You know how to pronounce Aslög but not Bo? Unfortunately I think Bo sounds quite mundane and boring to the swedish ear. Not as quite as bad as Ingmar, which sounds inbred and rural, but still not good. About the same as Bertil I would say.

By the way, fable, do I sense some inspiration from me helping to name the DCI lich a while back?

Indeed. They should name it " ", And later when it grows it could add a new letter say once every 5 years. It would make it's name a window into it's history and also provide entertainment later in life, when the name is harder to pronounce.
| When not try that in reverse? Give the kid an extremely long name, then drop off a letter each year. This has the added advantage in youth of allowing the child to pass for Welsh, which may make it a few more friends than if it states that it's Swedish.
Or, how about Darth Cheney? Kinda redundant, I know, but that's the beauty of it.

| | Ah! Teaches me to be absent for a while. The data was uploaded...and now download is on the way. Excellent news, really.
Names...such a broad arena here. Perhaps you dream of breaking the mold and wish to consider the following names?
If the offspring is male:
Atilla (my #1 choice, personally)
Crispus
Barbarossa
Amenhotep
If the offspring is female:
Valkyrie
Kali
Shar
Viconia (my #1 choice, personally)
Congratulations to the both of you!

| I thought you were concerned about friends? Darth Ahmed Yassin would be both cooler and get it more friends as well.
@Chanak: I like Barbarossa. A really powerfull name.

Female:

What do you guys think of Quetzalqoatl? Could work with Fable's scheme, and we'll just call him Q when he gets old.

Okay, if it's boy, what about Olle?
Not sure though if it's boys name, but I like it...
