Well, Halloween's coming up, anybody got any spectacular plans? Going out trick or treating with your kiddies? Going to a booze party with some friends, or are ya just gonna go home, pop up some popcorn, and watch a few scary and horrifying movies like Young Frankenstein and Wizard of Oz?

For me, I live in Bloomington Indiana, and we have this sort of half theater place called the Buskirk Chumley. They've had this tradition to play the Rocky Horror Picture Show there, charging admission of course. But, the cool thing about it is, if you dress up as one of the common characters, you get a pretty decent discount. This year it's 13 bucks normal, 9 bucks if you dress up. I think I might ask a friend to go, and we could dress up together, I'd be Eddie and she'd be Columbia.

How about you guys? Anything?

That is scary. Especially when you have enough stuff that you don't remember where you packed things, or that you forgot something completely. I remember when I first moved into the current house I'm in, we forgot the dining room table, so we had to either eat out or eat standing in the kitchen for a while until we could get a new one.

..The horror......

If that's true, then I have been living in a horror film almost two weeks now

But seriously, I probably will invite couple of friends (IF I have managed to unpack most of my stuff by then), and have a small party. You know, one of those parties which you have after moving to new appartment... what the term is anyway.

Eh, just the usual studying and going to class (not to mention some bit of gaming). Don't celebrate Halloween.

How do you forget a dining room table? I mean, I can see forgetting some small item, but dining tables tend to be pretty hard to absent-mindedly misplace or something

Have you also been battling undead in the form of assorted mementos you were sure you'd already thrown out?

Ah yes, a house warming party

More on topic, in addition to the sea of boxes and related issues, we will also be on duty to pass out candy to neighbourhood kids. This will be quite a novelty; it's been years since we've been able to do that sort of thing because this is the first time a long while we've lived in an actual house.

Nah, my horrors come from different sources. Like, last three days I have been in nightmare while trying to find the ticket to Nightwish's concert in December, which cost 40€ and the concert is already sold out. Three days I have been "Where did I put it? WHERE IN EARTH DID I PUT IT?!"
And nope, still haven't found it...

Yup, house warming party. Interesting to see what it becomes because I'm readied a lot of alcohol for that event, and as you probably remember, I don't drink anymore...

Nope. I've been blasting commies for the whole of this week. Sending them back kicking and screaming all the way to Mother Russia is so much fun.

We were carrying it out to the front porch area and onto the grass to load it into a truck, but when we got everything else loaded, the truck was full. We took off, unloaded everything, and plum forgot about the thing considering we had everything else.

I'll be sitting by the front door in a genuine Viking costume, with a tankard of mead running down my fake beard, and a huge mallet covered in runes. That way I can beat into the heads of those pesky, Yankified little snotlings and their consumerized parents that Halloween is not a thing we celebrate up here on The Reef. It's a commercialized, utterly bollocks but sadly successful pisstake on both religion, faith and mythology. Five years ago nobody but the Goths (I'm referring to the fashion trend, not the people) were eager to get hammered and dress up in scary clothes. Now everybody seems to be in on the scam. Jeeeez. I'm feeling like my ancestors, when Olav The Holier-Than-Thou came home with a couple of monks and said "You're gonna buy this Jesus-thing and his holy days, or I kick yer teeth in."

Honestly, me'n my son are gonna spend All Hallow's Eve in a remote cabin, with a fire going, and and explanation (which he already gets) as to why his classmates are suddenly forced by their parents to carve out pumpkins and dress up in sheets and Dracula masks and go out begging for candy. If someone out there, in the wilderness and the mountains, comes knocking on our door asking for a "treat" they'll probably get one.

I work an annual Halloween party for kids at my workplace, in the past we've done themed costumes...Wizard of Oz, Lord of the Rings..etc...
This year we are doing a pirate theme...

@ DW....moving is a #***
last time I moved, after a month I found 2 boxes in the garage not labeled, I didn't even open them...figured if I made it a month without needing whatever was in them, I didn't really need whatever was in them....

Is that the Teen-rated version of "or I'll chop your head of and feed it to your daughters?"

Oh and I'll probably get drunk.

That is seriously frightening. I'd rather be haunted by 300 ghosts for the rest of my life, than unpacking boxes. The very thought induces PTSD in me

What a pity this wasn't the truth. If it were, I'd glady have caught the first flight to your home town and spent all night watching you

I have to admit I don't even know when Halloween is. If it's today, I'm going to sleep. If it's next week, I'm going to a conference. So nothing exciting there.

Long ago I played a computer game where you had an extremely cute ghostly servant. I wish I had one now.
