@VonDondu,
Immediately after posting this I realised people might make that unfortunate association... . It is one of those few occasions when I have wished we still had the power to remove all evidence of a post *sigh*
Okay, let me say here and now, this was *not* in any way intended to cause offence.... and I truly hope no flame wars begin as a result.
*makes note to restrict all posting to the hours following the ingestion of at least 2 cups of copy and prior to the consumption of more than 1 glass of red wine*

I wouldn't really worry if I were you @DW. There has been a nearly identical thread posted here before ('twas the one I ripped posted my post from) and there has not been any outcry. If there is one now, that would mean we have gotton far to sensative...
And I do believe VonDondu was closer to mocking the whole situation rather than actually complaining about the 'american bashing' ...

Honestly - If all we worried about was pissing people off we would have nothing to talk about.
I think most reasonable people can tell the spirit of a post - most of us are guilty of some measure of maturity. As far as I am concerned Politically correct often = boring and IMHO serves to drive people further apart.
The recent unpleasantness involving Fable had almost nothing to do with the topic of the thread. It was all about the personal attacks.
Of course this is only my opinon - so if it offends anyone I will delete my post and join Fable in the BG forums....

But then again I too often misjudge what others are saying so if I am looking too deeply and finding what's not there, I offer my apologies in advance - I don't want to appear like I'm forcing the conversation here.

LMAO! reading that lot with my own Northern English accent was a cinch. Could be one and the same except Northerners don't drawl
Ok, a suggestion. Rather than risk offending by unintentionally appearing to bash nations/cultures etc, we should be more precise and just bash BS or Fas They enjoy the attention, after all!
BTW, VonDondu did use LOL! in her reply...

| | As a denizen of the South I can honestly say I am not offended. If anything, I geartly appreciate ya'll learning how to talk properly....
BTW, I'm with smass on the political correctness. Quit thinking and just post people (spam from the heart). Flaming and provocation is a very rare event and should be stomped upon mightly when it occurs. However, too much forethought and we have no dialogue. Caffienate and reveratol(ate) ad libum, then post

lmao! Okay now I feel stupid
I did sense VonDondu was mocking the whole thing.... but after the situation with Curdis and Fable in the other thread I started involving the US South, it occurred to me after posting this that maybe with recent sensitivities it could cause some flak...
*sigh* Please chalk my concerns it up to too much wine and a bout of insomnia
@Ysh, indeed. A lot of these recalled the Geordi dialect I used to speak. lol! When my family first moved to Canada nobody could understand me! Small wonder!
