Well, last week I run across a good RPG game (sprite-style, inspired in the old super nes games like Chrono Trigger) called Ahriman's Propecy.
It is the history of a Girl related to a Prophecy, and for real, I like it very much. But, it seems, not many people have seen it.
So this thread is here to make it easier for these freeware games to be distributed, I guess a good game is always handy, even more handy if it is free.
Here are the Producers of the game link and the direct Download for these games.
So, oost your known freeware games, Rpg's or not, and comment the other games displayed here.

Luis Antonio, it looks pretty linear, like a platform title. Does it include a multitude of quests you can take on simultaneously? Does it let you wander pretty much wherever you want, all the time?

Fable, I just recomend that before you leave an area you wait a bit more and level up three times before proceeding. Yes, you have a journal, and usually I have three to four tasks, and I can enter most dungeons and hidden places at the time I want. The each task solving, however, is linear, unfortunately.

It seems very similar to Ahriman's Prophecy (both are free, so I downloaded that, too), even to the point that their respective English translations could both make anybody wince.
Thing is, I'm put off in console titles by the...
1) linearity
2) bland characterizations,
3) poor writing (12-year-old nastiness among companions passing for wit, etc),
4) hackneyed plots,
5) damned cutesiness of the doll-like faces and baby-like avatars,
6) boring, almost non-strategic combat.
How far have you gotten in Ahriman's Prophecy? Does it get around most of the issues I've mentioned, above?

Um... isn't advertising other sites against GB rules?

Fable:
Yes, it has nice "dolls" avatars. Yes, it has 12 year old writings, specially in the beggining, but later they a)dont talk much b) get older. Combat is not the forte of the game, but I like the spell sistem, cause it is different, but a bit clumsy.
Well, I'm playing it cause I missed playing console RPG's and since I no longer have consoles... Anyway, at least it is not linear, but doing all the quests in order makes it easier.

#4 - Advertisements for your website or another forum should not be posted, except in your signature. The only other exception to this rule is if the link is to a page that answers the original poster's question.
| The question was an answer (well - was supposed to, but I belive it is the incorrect url) to the original poster, plus I doubt CM is associated with the site in which case it dosen't count as advertisment per se.
It isn't against the rules, to make links to other sites. It is when people try to profit from it either by advertising their own boards, buisness' and similar, that the rule kicks in.

I don't see any crime in it, either I just prefer being strict about the forum rules. But I'm not the mod for this forum, so it was just a thought.

Advertisments are more along the line of trying to profit from the visitors of this site, for instance trying to pull people into their own forum, get people to buy something or give money or what not
(At least that is the interpretation I base my "moderating" on)

A good distinction of whether or not the link is an advertisement, is the number of posts the poster has. You'll find a lot of the time someone will create an account GB, and post once, which is the ad. Those are the most typical. Other examples would be if the ad just comes out of nowhere on a forum, usually with a header like 'Come Check out My Site', or something like that.
If the links provided are relevant to the topic, more often than not, they aren't in there for advertising, and are usually safe
All these distinctions will become second nature for you eventualy. The only reason some of us (like Xan, and myself) know them so well, is because we were around with their forming. We may've even been involved, I can't recall...
