As some of you may know, I'm a bit of a Germanophile so I thought I would post up this 50 year anniversary thread.

Thanks for the link, DM. I'm rather fond of Deutschland as well, and enjoyed the time I spent there both as a teenager, and later when I was a soldier in the US Army. The re-unification of Germany was a colossal victory for many both in former West Germany and the DDR. Many of my West German friends had friends and family on the other side of the Wall. I'd love to return there someday soon, and see the ruin of the Wall with my own eyes.
