| | Gaming Keyboard? Im getting a new computer (a treat to myself after having the same computer with no upgrades for years) and would like to know wich would be a better gaming keyboard. Its pretty much the only part i am truly undecided about. been trying to research pros and cons....
does anyone currently use one of these keyboards?.... what is your opinion of it?

| | I can opt for Logitech, since their products are of very good quality and I have no problems with them. Can't be bothered with gaming peripherals as they're very pricey and I don't see a point in buying them.
Anyway, you can also check out Z-Board's line of keyboards. They look pretty cool to me.

| | sparky_kat, aren't you in a position to go to a "brick-and-mortar" store and try the keyboards for yourself? After all, you're the one who'll be using them, and even the best intentioned people from the internet will have a hard time telling you what keyboard you'll feel is most comfortable. I personally find the Apple Keyboard to be extremely comfortable, but that's because I'm used to typing on a laptop and a full-sized keyboard feels clunky. Quote:

| | | I'm still using an old Keytronic AT keyboard because I like it better than any other keyboard I've tried. It's beige (a very dated color in the computer world), and I have to use an AT-to-PS/2 adapter to connect it to my computer, but I'm more fussy about feel and functionality than I am about appearances. I don't like keyboards that have more than the standard 104 keys, especially since I have cats that like to walk across my keyboard to get my attention and I don't want them pressing any special function keys that might do strange or unexpected things. (Having your computer go into Sleep mode by accident might seem bad when you're playing an "important" game, but imagine what it feels like if you're trading stocks online.) So I can't recommend any particular gaming keyboard.
However, my brother loves his Razer Tarantula keyboard, so I thought I would pass that along. I am personally indifferent to the keyboards listed in your poll, but I can state firsthand that the Tarantula is extremely well-made and the keys feel great. Best of all in my opinion is that it is not littered with as many special-function keys as other keyboards. For one thing, it doesn't have a built-in game pad. But the keys are programmable, and some of them are even backlit with LEDs, so I can see why it would appeal to a hardcore gamer. |

actually no, i dont have the ability to go test them out. i live in a tiny town and would have to drive 2-4 hours to the closest "big" city to find anything to do something like that. so i do appreciate the GB community input.
we only have 2 computer stores, and 1 gaming type store (console gaming) here in my area..... if you went into the computer stores asking to test anything, they would think you were mad. they think they would lose money doing something like that as it would take product off the shelf that they could have sold. (i life in a weird area thats mainly a retirement community) also our computer store sells such basic, sometimes out of date equipment, you ask them about gaming accessories, they have this look of "what are u talking about?" and then our gaming store is for console stuff and dont sell mice and keyboards, and they kids they hire to work there are only into console gaming.

| | | I actually wouldn't call the G15 a gaming keyboard. I'd rather call it a utility keyboard, it does have some neat extras for some games, but the LCD which supports lots of programs (Xfire, Fraps, Winamp) just makes it really really handy. |

Bought myself a pair of Logitech headphones 3 months back. Treated it with the utmost care but now, the right side has lost all ability to channel noise. Gone back to using speakers......

I recall that Logitech have a 1 year warranty on all their products (I bought an optical mouse a month ago and it includes a 1 year warranty).

| | Yeah, I did swap it for a new one which I gave to a cousin for her birthday. Got new Blackberry earphones myself. Waiting to see how long it will last with another person.

| | | Huh, my experience is the same as that of Desr85. I have at least three pieces of logitech equipment and they haven't failed me. All of them have been in my possession for over a year... possibly two.

| | | I've been using a screen, a keyboard, a mouse and a headset from logitech.
The keyboard and mouse I've had in two years, the screen in almost one year and the headset in half a year, and all of them are still intact. Why buy anything but logitech?

| | Damn, it seems that I am the only one who has experienced the dark side of Logitech equipment. Hopefully, I am the only one, or my cousin will be after my blood.
