To the forum Swedes (and anyone else with some knowledge of Sweden's foreign policy)

As part of the Model United Nations (MUN) I'm taking part in a semi-formal public debate on Tuesday. The resolution (I've attatched a copy in case someone's interested) we are discussing is condemning Bush's "Axis of Evil" statement. The country I am representing is (you guessed it) Sweden. Trying to do some reaserch on it I keep hitting a brick wall. Goodle is being very unhelpful, and so have most news sites I've searched. I havn't yet looked thoroughly through the National Statements by Sweden in the UN; I'll do so tomorrow, but the quick glance I took is telling me there isn't lots of information there... Any links to information as to what Sweden's stance might be on the topic would be greatly appreciated. It doesn't really have to be anything specific - a broader link (f.ex. one similar to the Swedish statements to the UN ) would also be appreciated. If it relates in any way to Sweden and the axis, I could probably use it.

I wouldn't usually ask you guys for something like that, but due to poor time managment (I had the whole week off... ), and lots of school-related stuff to be done, my time has become really scarce, and I'm afraid I won't be able able to adeqatly research my position in time, because of more important school projects. Again, all help is appreciated

Representing Sweden should be very easy - just sit there and don't say anything I am not surprised you found no material on the net - there is none, Sweden has no official stance regarding the "axis of evil" concept. According to newspaper polls and such, a vast majority of the population has a negative view of the "axis of evil" concept, and there has been public debate in the newspapers where politicians and other professionals have condemned the idea. However, the goverment has made no public statements except for an unbelievable lame statement from our lame primary minster who said: "Sweden does not need to express it's opinions further in this issue, since everybody know our stance anyway".
