Ive always wondered just how the jedi/sith activate their lightsabers. Do they use the force to activate it or do the sabers have little buttons on them?

Definitely had some very technical portions to it (adjustment levers, activations buttons, etc.).

Yeah but does the button work without the force? And which came first? The button or the force?

It must be the force that activates the button which tells the light to form a saber when then proceeds to kill and dismember innocent drunks at said local pub.
EDIT: I think it was the button first, cause they needed something for the force to push

It is the force, because the force is everywhere, all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-seeing. It can even see BS huddled in his cell while gazing feverishly at his computer...
In this case, no buttons required
