| | BSG is the new cult? So does it stand for anything, or is like John McCain, who stands for nothing? And are there any fez hats? I mean, if they aren't going to offer tandoor, the least they could do is provide their members with fez hats.

I still like Boston Square Garden better.

| | Boston I like, but I'm not familiar with any square garden. Madison Square Garden, yes, but that's an eyesore I'd really rather forget. And there is excellent tandoor to be had in both cities.
Maybe we can make this BSG cult require new members to each provide their own tandoor feast for the rest of us. And fez hats. Oh, and a gong. We must have a gong! One of those extra large, J. Arthur Rank gongs that seemed to shake the entire screen when you watched old British films of the 1940s and 50s.

Our BATTLESTAR GALACTICA viewing extravaganza? Dismissed. Our very partnership? Sadly, dismembered. Please cease the phone calls and faxes. Our business is finished. |

BSG = Battle Star Galactica, it's similar to the scary movie/epic movie/superhero movie saga. It's an ungodly crappy show but for some reason, the directors, writers, and producers seem to keep getting money.

I suspect He does not even know what television is. Moreover, He chooses not to know - in Babylonian Heaven, this divine state of Not Knowing is called thinking outside the "box". We are blessed with this info because He occasionally switches to Common so we all could benefit from His Infinite Wisdom.
I am not sure about loins but I am definitely planning to watch BSG this Friday. So Say We All!

Guess my wanting to do other things than watch television is just plain wrong. I should learn from you! Quote:

| Oh, Tolden, you leave me aghast and adrift in a-grief! I shall cry loud and long as I munch some tandoor in your honor. Is there no way I can atone, short of watching Battlestar Galactica? Perhaps give you a free fez? One with a nice blue bunting?

Gongs are cool! Is it the same one that Indiana Jones had to hide behind to protect himself from shooters as he rolls the gong along and make his escape? Quote:

Honestly, have you seen BSG? It has absolutely nothing to do with any of the things you described. This is the final season, so, no, money isn't being thrown at it. What don't you like about? Is it because it's not scifi in the vein of TNG? Do you simply not like scifi? Do you apparently despise it because it uses scifi as a setting instead of a story? It's a drama first, science fiction second. I don't mind you not caring for it, that's your opinion. Comparing it to such garbage as those movies is ridiculous though.
And Fable, this whole thing started out because I thought you a bit of stodgy ol' grumble butt and I wanted to see if it was true. Luckily, and I'm sure you'll be relieved, I believe I originally had a distorted view of you from the underground BG chatter. So, you can stop sweating now. |

I was absolutely horrified as I imagined the messages being exchanged by the high and mighty throughout the world, behind my back, over my head, under my buttocks! How fortunate to know that I didn't live up to your low opinion of me!
But don't worry. Your fez with blue bunting is on the way. Thus all ends well for the new BSG cult.

| The comparison wasn't the similarities between the plots of the two shows, but rather the fact that they're very unpopular but for some reason still around.
Yes, I've seen the first season of the original, and the current one playing on Sci Fi today.
As for TNG, I don't know what that is. My strict opinion is more or less based on how often I watch TV shows and movies, considering I watch a LOT of them, most shows and movies don't bode well with me and it actually takes some serious effort to impress me. Firefly is the only science fiction show to do this thus far, aside from the originals (such as Twilight Zone, Plan 9 from outer space [yes, this was actually good in my opinion, good for laughs], hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, war of the worlds [the book mostly, maybe the movie], and the original Doctor Who). Battlestar Galactica, the original and newer versions, just weren't appealing to me. Like buffy the vampire slayer and stargate SG1, the concepts were great, but it simply wasn't worth watching after the first, second, or maybe third season.
