I have a request! I am in dire emotional need of any and all of your advice, I am talking purely about MUSIC.

What I am requesting that we post, and talk about in follow, are songs that move you. Music that picks up your feet and gets you the hell a movin. I dont just mean a dancing, I mean good music that moves you into whatever it is you need.

I personally think of two songs first... the first one by elvis that song.. "Little less conversation little more action please, all this aggrivation aint satisfaction me..."

And the Sid Vicious version of Sinatra's My way...

I need music to wake up to, new music. I need songs that kick your ass outa bed give you that whole "Get out enjoy life" (And focus on the non happy marriage songs, going through divorce/annulment whatever the hell it is).

Thanks in advance, and also on a sidenote just to make it hard for fable to respond, I really dug that violin you suggested.

Since no one is responding to this thread than I will. This is the same answer as the one in DW's..... Thread, can't remember the name, it's about when you get a tingly sorta feeling or something, I only got that when I first started reading books, I don't anymore Anyway my answer is *drumroll* CAPERCAILES BEST OF ALBUM, I listen to it every night, I put it on just before I go to bed.

Cool

Yeah, DW already started something like this, but I don't mind talking about it twice

For, me, it's most of the best Maiden songs, and some of Manowar's, too. It's incredible that I can't get enough of Fear of the dark or Judas my guide or any of my Maiden-favourites, altough I've been listening to them for more than a year...

Manowar is great, too!

Build a fire a thousand miles away to light my long way hoooooome

Whenever I hear this, I get into a kind of trance... It takes me to another world.

You should get to know these (if you don't know them already ) - you'll find a treasure

Oh, and Nightwish is worth a try, too!

Most of my favorite songs are all things that most people find to be negative, but make me happy. So I don't know what to suggest.

Acid Bath is a strange metal band thats broken up now. They do this song "Cassie Eats ****roaches", well, it has a part from "A Clockwork Orange" in it as the intro. Filthy song, but it amuses me from a conversation I had with my ex Cassie years ago.

There was a local band around here if your into a sort of rapcore type thing. They were called 40oz. Failure, got into a bunch of trouble for drinking in public all over this area and the lead singer took off for Cali, and the rest of the band got a new singer, changed the name to just 40oz. and I don't know if they got signed or what. One of their songs "Same as it ever was" I loved. Maybe it's just because I saw them in concert, the show they put on was crazy.

The band Dope does this song called "Sing" on their new album. Not really their normal style, but it's probably my favorite song of theirs. It's one of the few songs that really makes me want to get up and dance, I only dance once I've got more than a liter of rum in me really, so that's saying a lot. The first song on that same album (Group Therapy is the album), can't put the name but thats a great song for a guy, especially anyone who's been through a bad relationship. The girls loved it too at the concert I saw them in for some reason.

Steppenwolf, you cannot live without hearing "Magic Carpet Ride" at least once, fond memories of that song and a friend of two of my ex's.

Hed PE does this song called "Crazy Legs", funny song, definately not recommended for young people though. 18+ type thing.

One Minute Silence does some songs I really liked, the beat and how it all flows together is what got me I think more than anything. I'd suggest just about half the songs on the "Available in All Colors" album as songs that get you pumped up.

Union Underground Does some songs I loved in high school, "South Texas Death Ride" and "Turn me on Mr. Dead Man", along with "Trip with Jesus" were good ones IIRC.

American Head Charge or AHC, I like. There's this song "Never get caught", that's just like awesome to drive to when you just want to go fast and take off for no other reason than to just drive for a while. Another "Song for the Suspect" is a good one. Not exactly nice tunes, but I like them.

Who could forget The Doors. "Alabama Song", "People are Strange", "Break on Through" and "Touch Me" are all favorites of mine. Good stuff, and classics too.

AC/DC, have to include "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" and "T.N.T", you can't help but get worked up with those.

Did I mention I love music?

Well my tastes tend to vary from day to day.

Somedays I can moved by the heartfelt vocals from the likes of Thom Yorke (Radiohead) and Matt Bellamy (Muse). Other times I get blown away by amazingly complex guitar riffs and bass lines like those from Metallica's Call Of Ktulu or Led Zepplin's Stairway To Heaven.

My view of perfection from a musicians point of view is still Jimi Hendrix's Machine Gun. It is an absolutely beautiful song written in the midst of the Vietnam war, the political undertones however have meant that it has never truly gotten the same exposure as of his more rockier songs.

Oh and having just seen The Polyphonic Spree, any song of theirs is bound to get your feet moving. The 24 piece band is an absolute joy to watch and I have yet to hear a more inspirational band then these guys and gals.
