Gauths? Well, you could use one as a flail (eyes are better than spikes). Think ultra-Flail of Ages.

Being small and vicious isn't enough. Most lawyers are small and vicious, but they rarely make good cannon fodder--not that it shouldn't be tried, of course.

What's needed are balance, size, ferocity and density, all worked up in a good ratio. The various halfling, dwarven and gnomish races all fit this description to a fair extent. Our scholarly journal has focused on the various issues attached to these three options, and their pursuit.

Okaym i really don't like yer dwarf throwing(don't care for the gnomes), but kobolds may be more useful for lightining warfare.
They are light, and if they are kamikaze kobolds they'll explode upon impact.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Gimly the dwarf's quote from LOTR1: "Nobody throws dwarves!"

Best line in the movie, and it shows that the writers of the film really knew fantasy very well. The subject of "dwarf throwers" (versus "dwarven throwers") has been around for a long time, and has been the catalyst for the creation of a lot of humorous material, as evidenced by this thread.

A little off topic, but was I the only one who thought the LOTR movie was a lot better D&D film than the stupid one that bore that name?

Hmmm, Bumping a suspicious and spurious topic, with an unlabelled and off topic movie spoiler.... As a first post I'd rate it about an 8.

Oh and welcome to the forum(s)!!!

The D&D movie was only fair but I loved the special effects, haven't seen LOTR1 so I can't compare.

Hey! Keep it down, there! We're listening to a symposium on liquid chili pepper as a fuel additive to get more distance out of gnomish ammo.

As with RPG's, you *really* want to make sure you're not standing behind the launcher when that one goes off...

Ah I remember my days in the order standing behind the massed rows of liquid chilli fuelled gnomish artillery.

It nearly brought back the warm and fuzzy feeling one got after a creeping barrage.

I love the smell of... - Curdis

As this thread seemed to be dead under the sheer weight of endless "What's yur favirit party?" and "Can I have sex with Imoen?" threads in the SoA category, I've moved it over here. I think its serious tone and weighty content will more easily fit in with the current surroundings.

Feel free to browse at random from among the distinguished, scholarly reports and investigative journalism that predate my remarks.

Oh Wow! That brings back memories. Oh and BTW is it true that you can have sex with Imoen?

Back on topic - rereading this It reminded me that the liquid chili fuelled deep gnome launcher array must have been mentioned on one of the now lost scrolls - alas - It was called the Svirfneblinwaffer. - Curdis !

I found the "Can I have sex with Imoen" threads to be quite stimulating.

I belive this thread was probably buried under several "Who do you think is the hottest NPC" threads. Again, a riveting discussion.

I must confess I know nothing about this thread or its history. I loathe dwarves however, and if this thread in any way discusses these fat midgets hitting walls at high speeds with mighty impact, I will devour the content with joy.
