Maybe it is easier to be very welcoming to all new members when there aren't any?

@Darzog: The problem with you and the others is that you think that you and your friends are the only "whippersnappers" of SYM/GB worthy of mentioning.

Obviously you have noticed THE DATES WE JOINED GB, and that between Aegis, DW, and me, I'm the youngest and we came a long way back, hence, the comment of "whippersnappers." Therefore such comment was made based on Aegis' use of his legendary sturgeons.

There is no rush in getting fresh blood in SYM. Others have left long before you guys came, and others have and will come anew.

SYM, and most especially GB, have survived through the years despite and inspite of members leaving for good. What makes you think that SYM/GB will go down just because these recently banned members aren't here anymore?

There was a time when the SLURRs and its fabled truck, the Rolling Thunder, practically swamped the threads and spiced things up here at SYM. They don't post that much anymore but it didn't cause SYM to "go down."

Surely you are astute enough that THERE ARE new posters here at SYM. One doesn't expect SYM to be inundated with newbies posting in wild abandon on such a short notice.

Now if you and the others who are remaining here in SYM/GB are unhappy with the way things are in this part of cyberspace, you are always free to move on and not participate in this forum anymore. No one is forcing you to stay. If you, however, still choose to participate, move on and accept the fact that these friends of yours who are persona non grata here at GB won't be back.

In case you don't know, Gruntboy and even Sailor Saturn are friends of mine. Gruntboy also happens to be a close friend of T'lainya. When they were banished, we understood why it had to happen and moved on. T' and I didn't make a big issue out of it, and as mods we didn't even antagonize Buck who decided to have our friend banned.

Others who felt disenchanted at some time just left quietly and never caused trouble. They have their own forum now.

Deal with it.

Now, why did I get to say all these things?

It is so easy to argue and have a debate on the validity of DJ's post and yours, but man, I aint born yesterday, and quite frankly I'm insulted that you would take me and those remaining here for a fool thinking that such comments made were posted just for its face value.

Take note of the teal font. That means I'm posting AS A REGULAR MEMBER OF THIS BOARD.

I will leave this to my fellow mods to handle this issue lest I be accused of wearing my mod cap with the swastika sign emblazoned on it.

the only reason to use the modifier "old" in this particular instance is as a reference to the complete and utter lack of maturity that has been shown by you and numerous others.

I have said very little on this whole issue, but the puerile behaviour demonstrated by people such as yourself has become wearisome in the extreme. Mah said it very well IMO, either contribute to this place in a constructive manner or pick up your marbles and take them to a sandbox more to your liking.
Or, is it simply that because you didn't get your own way you are going to continue throwing a temper tantrum in as disruptive a manner as possible until either you eventually get bored or end up banned like your friends? And, of course, if the latter happens, that will no doubt confirm in your mind that you've been unjustly treated. Despite the fact that you and your friends have actually done your best to antagonise Buck and the SYM mods and provoke an extreme response from them, thus providing you with yet further reason to claim you've been unduly victimised.

Why is this issue still coming up? Everyone on both sides keeps fueling it then blaming each other over it. Get the heck over it. I had to go back to the first post just to figure out who it was we were all supposed to be saying hi to.

I don't see any reason to continue this discussion. At least it doesn't help anybody to get used to the situation. So, as DW said, if you don't like the new style, there is a lot of other forums to lurk in. This doesn't mean I want anybody to leave this place, though.

The reason it keeps comming up is that some people keep bringin it up with less then subtle attempts at attempted subtle sarcasme.

@Darzog:
Know that the majority of the clique banned weren't newbies or newcommers, but had been here for quite a while, posting significantly amount (in a few threads). Thus your insinuation that they were somehow responsible for "newcommers" to this place, or that newcommers doesn't show because of them, is simply pointless and wrong. This place have had ups and downs with people comming and going for near 6 years.
The only thing which have changed on GB lately is that there isn't huge posting in only two threads, that's all. GB has not been drained, simply because a bunch of immature acting people got shown the door rather forcefully after trying harrashment, blackmailing and generally disregarding the rules for this forum. GB has had much more difficult times then that.

And this is not a discussion which is to spring up again - the matter has been resolved by unfortunally having to ban a number of people who couldn't behave. They are not comming back and if in your mind GB has changed because of it - then feel free to leave the board. Nobody is forcing you to post here. If you have issues with this, take it to the PM.

Now (and this goes for everybody) get back "on topic", as one can in a thread of this nature, which is greeting a person who was kind enough to say hi to people. It is extreemly disrespectfull to both him and other spectators/posters to attempt to turn his thread into another mod/forum/Buck bashing post.

Hi all, Iz been a while since I've been here. About a couple months or so. I have been in Banshee. Trying to get a Never Winter Nights game going. Have some difficulties but still in for fun, thanks for that. My computer has been through some awesome upgrades. Maybe post some photos of it later. and of me if you all want. So I am still out looking for a better girlfriend than the one I have, SIGH, because life has been very depressing. But unfortionitly, I am somewhat preparred for that and even expect it with all the trash news we all see and hear every day. God bless and with all a good night, so I hope things are still all cozy for you all.

No, there is no need to break up with her, because she has not fully formed from the toilet water that produces such fine things like girl friends. In fact she almost emerged in the overflow, but low and true she swirled and disapperaed before such prophesy could imagine fullfillment. Thuss my heart suck like a long brown one and she in her haste left. Left as in my geographical location, the deriction the toilet water spins, left like a gradified bowl extraced from the happest ever after, butt with with a dull sitting grin and widden girth to hope for the promise of a great new day.
