But then, I haven't tried wasabi yet, and if that makes a big difference, perhaps I should. Though I'm right off soy sauce, due to its extremely high salt content. My heart specialist gets an angry look on her face whenever the word "salt" is mentioned in her presence. I don't wish to incur her wrath. It's tough enough doing so with my wife, who is a non-practicing RN but retains the RN Stare for important occasions.
Fable, wasabi will make your lung problems flee for restless hours it completely cleans you. I have tasted it half an year ago, and it was awesome. I really do like wasabi even with day after day food, too bad it is not really easy to acquire here.

Regarding soy sauce, I've heard you can dip it into sake (sp?) too. Yes, that japanese drink. I never tasted it, but it has no salt, and AFAIK you may have some ammount of alcohol daily.

Aw, c'mon, Fable, you cant say the wrapping bandaid is not nice to look at. The biggest in of japanese food for me is that I'm able to eat it with the eyes far more than with my mouth, if you catch my drift. When we go to the Nakaba restaurant (our favourite jap restaurant downtown) or when I used to go to my ex gf's home I'd love to see those colorfull little things there. What I like about the taste is that it wont make you feel stomach pains as heavy food does, yet it satisfies you a lot, and the taste is very soft, something to be pondered about every time your teeth grind the food, counting one, two, three... I personally dislike the taste of cold rice, and I hate cold food, so for me its better that other things are offered as alternatives when japanese food is around, but I do eat it and I do encourage people to eat it.

Working as a consultant for restaurants has its advantages: I'm trying to make a deal with a guy that has two japanese restaurants downtown, a grill and a buffet (scattered around the city), and yet a bbq house at another town. Then I want his sushiman to teach me a little I think it is really nice. My GF's father is said to make wonderfull sushi when he wants, but I had no chance to prove it yet.

Anyway, someone mentioned oysters. Oysters rule, raw and juicy, freshly caught, preferrably still alive. Be a man, Stan, eat oysters.

ROFL! Xandax said he considered all things that lived in the water to be fish. I only asked if he considered penguins to be fish, not if he would eat them.

I couldn't agree more The *only* way to eat oysters is raw, and on the half shell, with a little lemon upon a bed of crushed ice

Well for something to feel fear it needs to be sentient... and with the exception of oysters, there's not much I eat that is still alive. (To the best of my knowledge anyway )

@Fiona, oysters are born to be food. They have not a single other purpose (except perhaps cleaning the seas and being a source of surface for coral banks, and stuff, but nah, that's not important).

Matter of taste Luis. I can eat them happily but I prefer mussels and scallops and I prefer them cooked

I didn't know you were a walrus
